Chaos erupts as Sydney's plan unfolds in The Last Frontier Episode 8
Episode 8 of The Last Frontier begins with Sydney in the same vehicle as Havlock as he is being transported. Havelock begins to tell Sydney that she should have gone with him, and they would have figured it out. At the end of the seventh episode, it was clear that Sydney was involved in the whole plane crash as Frank finally figured it out.
He even tells her that he knew what she did. The scene cuts to the moment when Havlock is listening to Thiago’s conversation with Syney through the wiretap. Right then, the FBI agent inside the car gets an order telling them to separate Sydney from Havlock. Hearing this, Sydney begins to attack, and the whole situation turns into chaos. Soon, a flashback scene begins in this episode of The Last Frontier, showing the events one month before this incident.

Sydney and Havlock’s relationship is dived into. They are staying together and discussing having a future together. Havelock begins to tell Sydney that his life is in danger and he does not have much time. So, he wants to think about an exit plan. Sydney gets a call about an agent named Viktor Voss.
Victor asks for Sydney, as he thinks she can help him. Sydney tries to talk to him. However, he says that he will only speak to her if the cameras are off. Sydney reluctantly agrees. Victor begins to discuss Sydney’s father and even tells her to take him to Havelock. Before they are able to finish their conversation, they are attacked. Sydney somehow manages to escape, but Victor is killed. Before his death, he says that he was his father’s killer.
She runs back to Havlock to discuss the whole situation. Havelock begins to tell Sydney that they should not trust Bradford, as she might know more than she is letting on. When Sydney presses to know more about Havlock’s thoughts, he reveals that he has been fishing for leverage and found a file called Archive 6, which was created 20 years ago by Sydney’s father.
Archive 6 is still active even though Sydney’s father is dead. Havlock thinks that this file could be the key to finding out the truth about Sydney’s father’s death. Sydney initially refuses to do anything without discussing it with Bradford, thinking she is on her side. So, Havelock tries to find out more about Voss.
They find a connection that links Voss to the agency, Sharon Tidwell. They think that she knew about Voss. The next day, the two of them visit Sharon, where she tells them that she gave him critical support. However, she does not provide any information about Sydney’s father. She even tells Sydney to “walk away from this” so that she can protect his legacy.
Hearing Sharon’s words, Sydney realizes that they need to look into Archive 6. They hatch a plan to access Archive 6. The next day, Sydney gets called by Bradford. She tells her that one of their shadow facilities was breached in Paris on Friday, with two people dead, along with Victor Voss. Sydney pretends not to know about Victor.
They insinuate that it was Havlock’s task. They even tell her about their SigmaVault network intrusion, indicating that they think it was Havlock’s task as well. Sydney tells them that she does not think that he is involved. Bradford pretends to care about Sydney; however, she understands that Bradford knows that she is involved.

This episode of The Last Frontier continues with Sydney discussing the situation of Bradford with Havlock. Havelock tells Sydney that Archive 6 contains all the proof that the CIA is planning to kill him, just like the others. It contained details about Bradford’s secret program, where Bradford is running “unsanctioned black book ops around the globe”.
Bradford is also providing classified intel to kill the enemies. She is also terminating the assets once the job is complete. Sydney’s father was one of Bradford’s first targets. Sydney tells Havlock that they should go public with the proof, but Havlock refuses, as he thinks Bradford is too powerful. He wants to escape and use the knowledge as leverage. Sydney then visits her mother, who tells her about Vincent Thiago and his friendship with Sydney’s father.
Sydney begins to understand the danger Bradford poses. She visits Vincent to discuss her father. He tells her that Sydney’s father was assassinated to protect a secret. This begins the route to the plane crash that we see at the beginning of The Last Frontier. Vincent begins to tell her about the Atwater Protocol, where Bradford was her father’s “most stalwart supporter.”
Despite the “gruesome” and unorthodox” nature of the program, they wanted to “snuff out the evils of humanity”. However, unlike Sydney’s father, Bradford saw this program as an opportunity to eradicate enemies around the world without “a modicum of oversight”.
She even eliminated her own operatives to keep the program a secret. Sydney’s father did not like it. So, he wanted to expose this abuse. However, he lacked the proof that was needed. This led Sydney’s father on a path to search for proof, where he found out that Bradford was actually profiting from some of the killings.
This episode of The Last Frontier continues with Bradford informing them that they knew that it was Havlock who breached. On the other hand, Havelock tells Sydney about the escape plan and how he plans on exposing Bradford using the “auto-send switch”. He keeps waiting for Bradford, but she does not arrive. Authorities arrive at the hotel, where Havlock was hiding, and arrest him.
Sydney reaches Vincent Thiago’s house to tell him about the whole situation. She then begins to plan to kill Havlock through the plane crash, knowing that killing him would activate the switch and Bradford would be exposed. Despite the fact that she would be losing the man she loves, she decides to do this for her father. However, her plan fails miserably.
Havelock navigates the crashing plane and lands it. He then escapes, which leads to the present-day situation. The scene cuts back to the present day, where Sydney points her gun at Havlock, ready to kill him. Havlock tells her that killing him now would not be of any benefit, as Bradford already deactivated the switch. So, now even if he dies, the truth about the Archive will not be exposed.
Sydney doesn't believe him and decides to call Bradford directly, who confirms Havlock’s words. Havelock then gives her the physical copy of the proof, which he hid inside one of his wounds. At the very end of this episode in The Last Frontier, Frank arrives at the location to see that Havlock is standing, and Sydney has escaped. This episode of The Last Frontier perfectly captured that whole truth that led to Sydney's actions.
