Yohan's devious plans vs. Tae-joong's Resolve in The Manipulated Episode 5 and 6
Episode 5 of The Manipulated begins with a flashback scene. It takes us back to the time when it all began. It begins with a man calling his father to tell him that he has killed a woman. This man is in a drunken stupor and speaks to his father in an incoherent manner. The scene cuts to Yohan. He is eavesdropping on a conversation between three men discussing money.
Yohan joins their conversation and begins to speak about the security solutions of the company. The men are initially condescending towards Yohan’s attitude, but they are shocked when they find out Yohan’s true identity. Yohan then uses the finger one of his men cut from the man who was looking down upon him, and uses it on a sculpture.
As this episode in The Manipulated progresses, it is revealed that the father of the man who killed the woman at the beginning of the episode calls Yohan to clear his son’s name from the grave situation. Soon, Yohan begins his process, which eventually causes Tae-joong to get caught in the murder case. Yohan’s men begin to tamper with the evidence and use Tae-joong as the culprit.
The elaborate process that Yohan goes through only proves the extent of his reach and ability. He can manipulate any case and situation according to his will. This episode depicts his strengths. It is truly quite immense, indicating Tae-joong’s enemy is definitely not someone to be trifled with. The scene cuts back to the present day, where Tae-joong and the other prisoners are given a feast to eat. However, Tae-joong does not eat any of it. All the prisoners are then led to separate rooms where they are given uniforms.
Tae-joon begins looking for a way out instead of taking a rest. He is almost able to escape when he begins to get shot at. Yohan arrives in front of him and tells him that it was not easy to bring them to this place. He tells him about the match that will take place, for which they can get a prize. Yohan returns to the room given to him. The next day, the prisoners were brought out. Yohan tells them about the race. When one of the prisoners begins to complain, Yohan shoots him right away.
Episode 5 of The Manipulated ends with Yohan discussing the race and how it becomes a great opportunity for gambling and earning more money. On the other hand, the prisoners, including Tae-joong, begin to prepare for the race with the vehicles that they are given.
Episode 6 of The Manipulated begins with the prisoners discussing the race. Jiyoung tries to make Tae-joong part of his team so that they can win the prize money. As the episode progresses, things get completely chaotic. The prisoners begin to attack each other to take over the car before the race even starts. However, before the prisoners are able to injure one another even further, Yohan intervenes.
The next day, Tae-joong goes to speak to Yohan, where he begins to look around the racecourse from the top of the building. The race finally begins, and the prisoners begin to attack Tae-joon’s car, thinking he is in the 9th car. The race is intense. Each car tries to take over the other. However, Yohan’s plan to kill Tae-joong is unsuccessful as he finds that Tae-joong is not in the ninth car.
Yohan begins to search for him when Tae-joong comes out riding a bike. It can be understood that he is trying to escape the race arena. Yohan uses a drone to follow Tae-jooong’s bike. One of the prisoners begins to shoot Tae-joon, but is unsuccessful in stopping him.

Seeing this, Yohan decides to take it up a notch by announcing that he will be rewarding double the prize money if anyone is able to catch the biker. There is an intense action sequence that fills this episode throughout. In the end, Tae-joong is able to reach the location from where he could escape. However, the episode ends with a cliffhanger. Yohan shoots at Tae-joong when he rides over the ramp. It leaves us with the question of his survival.
