These four episodes perfectly curated the premise and set up the atmosphere for the upcoming intense moments.
The first four episodes of the series perfectly capture the essence of the series. It sets the tone in an intense manner. The series begins with Ji Chang-wook's Tae-joong going about his life. He works as a delivery person and is always eager to help others. However, one day his life changed. He picks up a call from an unknown mobile phone that he found.
The caller, on the other hand, asks him to deliver the phone to a location. After he does what he is told by the caller, he is arrested by the police. He finds out that he is getting charged with murder. Completely taken aback by the turn of events, he tries to prove his innocence. However, the more he tries to push back, the more problematic the situation becomes. Ji Chang-wook perfectly brings out Tae-joong's troubled state in a distinct manner. He brings in his versatility to depict the emotional turmoil that Tae-joong goes through.

Besides Ji Chang-wook, The Manipulated brings in the very talented Do Kyung-soo as the villain of the storyline. Though in the first four episodes of the series, the focus is more on Tae-jooong’s storyline, it can be understood that the series will be focusing on Do Kyung-soo’s An Yohan in the upcoming episodes.
Do Kyung-soo’s An Yohan is the mastermind behind the whole case. He incriminated Tae-joong and put him behind bars. In the third episode of the series, we see Tae-joong planning to escape the prison. His plan is all set. However, before he is able to bring his plan into action, Yohan brings in yet another hindrance for him. A doctor arrives at the prison for a vaccination drive.
Tae-joong is administered this vaccine, which contains poison. In the fourth episode, when Tae-joong finally begins to escape, the poison in the vaccine begins to affect him. Before he is able to escape the confinement of the prison, he collapses.
The ending of the fourth episode created an intriguing situation with Tae-joong finally meeting Yohan. He is still unaware that Yohan is the mastermind. Some of the cast members of the series are Pyo Ye-jin, Lee Kwang-soo, Jo Yoon-su, and many more.
