The Manipulated Episodes 7-8 recap: Yohan’s plan backfires and Tae-joong takes an unexpected detour

Episode 6 of The Manipulated ended with a huge cliffhanger about the fate of Tae-joong, which is finally gets a revelation in the new episode. The intense thrill that the series is bringing forth is adding to the anticipation. In the sixth episode of The Manipulated, Tae-joong planned to escape by tricking Yo-han.

However, before he can safely escape by riding on the ramp, Yo-han shoots at him. However, before we are able to see whether he survives the incident or not, the episode ends. The seventh episode of The Manipulated begins right after where things are left off and is already quite intense.

Yohan’s plan backfires, and Tae-joong takes an unexpected detour in The Manipulated Episode 7-8

Tae-joong survives! The seventh episode of The Manipulated calms the intense anticipation that the viewers had regarding Tae-joong’s fate. He survives and can escape, but he is gravely injured. He goes to Noh Yongshik to help him with his injuries. The scene cuts to Yohan, who is checking the images of the bike that Tae-joong used to escape Yohan’s clutches.

He also does not want the news about the inmates escaping to come out in the media. Yohan begins to think about Tae-joong’s next move as he is angry that he was able to escape and even destroyed his “playground.” After waking up from his slumber, Tae-joong tells Yongshik that he must have been surprised that he came to him.

Yongshik tells Tae-joong that he can continue his plans from this place, as it would be safe. However, Tae-joong refuses. He does not want to put him in any danger. This episode of The Manipulated continues with Tae-joong going to check on his brother’s ashes. He begins to search for the lawyer, Kim Sangrak, who put him through all the trouble, using the phone that Yongshik gave him as a gift.

Tae-joong begins to follow Sangrak. Tae-joong catches him and begins to beat him up. Initially, Sangrak does not say anything, but after Tae-joong’s coercion, he begins to spill the truth. He tells him about the next victim whom they will be using to frame for another crime. He also tells him how Tae-joong was framed for the murder.

Before Tae-joong can ask more questions, the fake doctor from the prison arrives and begins to attack Tae-joong. Sangrak then tells Tae-joong that the fake doctor killed his brother. Tae-joong somehow escapes the room with the evidence from the files after the fake doctor uses a bomb to blast inside the room. As this episode of The Manipulated continues, Yohan arrives to kill the fake doctor because he was unable to finish the task of killing Tae-joong. Yohan brutally murders the man and leaves.

The episode progresses with Yohan beginning to observe Hyeonjeong on his setup. He ponders the woman’s sick child. The scene then cuts to Tae-joong. He is also tracking this woman, thinking about ways to save her from being framed. Tae-joong discusses ways to save her with Yongshik. Yongshik then gives Tae-joong camera instruments that would help him keep an eye on her.

He then fixes the cameras, focusing on Hyeonjeong. Tae-joong spends the whole night checking on the cameras he set up. Tae-joong and Yongshik begin to get closer to the truth using their surveillance cameras. This episode of The Manipulated ends with Yohan’s plan to frame Hyeongjeong on its way. Just as he used a phone call to bring Tae-joong to the location, he does the same with her. However, Tae-joong understands that there is something wrong and tries to reach her before things go wrong.

Episode 8 of The Manipulated does not begin with Tae-joong but rather with the investigators visiting Yongshik’s shop. They enter the shop and begin to ask about Tae-jooong. They begin to search his shop, but before they can find out more about Tae-joong’s plans, Eunbi comes to the rescue. On the other hand, Tae-joong also succeeds in preventing Hyeonjeong from falling into Yohan’s trap.

He steals the phone before she is able to give it to the woman. Yohan gets furious when he finds that the phone has been stolen. In his fit of rage, he shatters a sculpture. It is revealed that the sculpture contained the murder weapon of the case for which he was supposed to frame Hyeonjeong.

Tae-joong decides to call back the recent phone number on the call list and asks for money in return for it. The woman on the other side of the phone was actually planted by Yohan. She, along with the director who worked with Yohan, plans to get the phone back without consulting with Yohan.

This episode of The Manipulated continues with Tae-joong planning to exchange the phone for money so that he can follow the woman. The plan that the director and the woman hatched about catching the thief while he comes to give the phone fails. Tae-joong then begins to follow the woman. The woman reaches their workplace with Tae-joong on her tail.

He disguises himself and begins to explore the area secretively. He begins to film the whole thing as evidence. However, things get complicated when he gets a call from Yongshik. His phone was not on silent, so everyone surrounding him was able to hear. Yongshik tells him that there is something wrong at the salon.

Back at the salon where Hyeonjeong is working, she is attacked by one of Yohan’s employees. Tae-joong runs back to the salon after fighting Yohan’s employees. Right before things could turn more complicated, he saves Hyeonjeong.

Things also get complicated for Yohan as Baek Dokyung and his father arrive at his home uninvited. They threaten him that he needs to fix the issue with Tae-joong, as he is Baek Dokyung’s “avatar” in the case of murder. At the end of the eighth episode of The Manipulated, Tae-joong finds that Yohan had a backup plan ready if things went wrong with framing Hyeonjeong. He decides to go back to Yohan’s workplace.

He sees that dead bodies are strewn all over the place. All the people are brutally murdered. He even sees photos kept for him along with a stack of cash. He begins to get completely frustrated with the situation. Right then, a video starts to play on the screen in front of him.

In the video, Baek Dokyung’s picture is given with a note saying he is the “real culprit”. There is also a hint given for him to find him. Yohan has now set the stage for Tae-joong to chase Baek Dokyung. Whether he will be following Dokyung or choose another path is now up to him. This will be revealed in the upcoming episodes of The Manipulated.
