As the world of entertainment prepares to witness a new season of Maxton Hall: The World Between Us on November 7, it cannot be denied that the six-episode series, which dropped last year, definitely comes with a layer of intrigue. Right after the first season of Maxton Hall: The World Between Us dropped, viewers could not get enough of how intense the romance between Ruby and James is.

With each episode, the differences between the two of them developed into a special bond. However, the path to their eventual union was definitely not an easy one. Their path was filled with distinct difficulties that often created complications between the two of them. So, before the new season drops, here is a recap. Maxton Hall: The World Between Us Season 1 recap

The economic disparity between the students at Maxton College created a difference between them in Maxton Hall: The World Between Us. On one hand, students such as James Beaufort could afford to party and spend their time having fun; students like Ruby could only dream of joining prestigious universities if they were able to work hard. Initially, the trouble between Ruby and James began when Ruby found out about the affair between James’s sister and Professor Sutton.

Worried that the truth about the affair would come out if Ruby did not keep her mouth shut, James decides to take matters into his own hands. He approaches Ruby and tells her to keep quiet in exchange for money. However, Ruby was completely appalled at the way James approached her. This interaction between the two of them began their enmity.

Ruby initially wanted to get a recommendation from Professor Sutton; however, after finding out the truth about his affair, she got worried and decided to get the recommendation letter from Professor Lexington.

Professor Lexington offered Ruby that if she were able to bring success to the welcome party, then he would give her the letter. However, the party turns out to be a disaster because James decided to create a problem for Ruby, and caused the party to turn into complete chaos in Maxton Hall: The World Between Us. The distance between the two of them grew further because of this situation.

However, when Professor Lexington found out that it was James who created the trouble at the party, he prevented him from playing for the lacrosse team. It completely infuriates James, who blames it all on Ruby. Ruby, on the other hand, is also in trouble, as Professor Lexington now orders the two of them to jointly prepare for the upcoming party.

This new situation between the two of them took a turn when Ruby insulted James. Later, Ruby understood that her actions were not right. She decides to ask for forgiveness from James. Seeing Ruby opening up about her mistake completely shatters the barrier the two of them had. It leads each of them to understand that there is more to the other person than meets the eye.

The relationship further blossoms when Ruby visits a party where they have quality time together. However, seeing James close to Ruby irritates one of James’ friends. She pushes Ruby into the pool. James arrives at the right time and saves Ruby from drowning.

Ruby and James’ closeness further develops after this moment in Maxton Hall: The World Between Us. However, the good times in their relationship do not last long because of James’ father, Mortimer Beaufort. Mortimer Beaufort wanted his son to follow in his footsteps instead of his daughter. Even though his daughter was more qualified to take on the helm, he chose James.

Noticing the closeness between his son and Ruby, he created quite a disrespectful situation for Ruby. This led to the creation of a separation between the two of them. However, this distance does not last long. The moment they arrive at Oxford for their interviews, James’ resolution to stay away from Ruby begins to crumble. Soon, the two of them reconcile and get back together. However, the challenges keep coming for James.

James is called back to his house along with his sister, Lydia, where they get devastating news. They find out that their mother is dead and their father did not inform them before. This news completely shatters James, and he begins to attack his father and then leaves the house. He reaches Ruby’s house and sees her having food with her family in a happy mood. However, instead of calling her to speak to her about his dire situation, he decides to leave her be.

It will be intriguing to see how James navigates through the challenges that are now on his way. Whether he will rely on Ruby for emotional support or completely leave her will be revealed in the upcoming episodes of Maxton Hall: The World Between Us.
