His story is threaded by the investigator Silvia Della Monica as he re-examines the killings and again visits the old leads, uncovering the possibility of wrong suspects being framed at the time.

The official synopsis of the show reads,

"As a serial killer strikes terror in Italy by targeting couples parked in lovers lanes, authorities explore a case from 1968 that may be key to identifying The Monster of Florence."

Liliana Bottone as Silvia Della Monica

Silvia is the district attorney in The Monster of Florence who leads the investigation of II Mostro, a serial killer. Silvia is seen adapting some unconventional methods to catch this killer as he preys on his seventh and eighth victims. She deceives the press and provokes the murderer to make a mistake, and double-checks every case with any similarities. She becomes the anchor of the story, unfolding how, at the time, several wrong suspects were held in the case.

Liliana Bottone is seen in Parthenope, Generation 56K, and A Hundred Sundays.

Marco Bullitta as Stefano Mele

Stefano is Barbara Locci's husband, who was convicted in 1970 of murdering his wife and her lover. His case was again reopened when II Mostro's crimes escalated, and police suspected Stefano because the way the victims were murdered was similar to that of Stefano's. This suggests that Stefano and Mostro might be working together.

Marco Billitta plays the role of Stefano and has shared credits in Andarevia, The Mute Man of Sardinia before this show.

Francesca Olia as Barbara Locci

Barbara is one of Il Mostro’s earliest victims, killed in 1968 along with her lover. This murder started the chain of events and investigations, trials, with the police every time chasing new leads. Barbara's story is touched upon in the film to cover how the initial handling of the case impacted her family.

Wondering where you have seen Francesca Olia before? Boys (2021), Timor (2024) were two of her notable projects, and The Monster of Florence would be her third project.

Antonio Tintis as Giovanni Mele

Antonio Tintis plays Giovanni, Stefano Mele's brother. He becomes the suspect and is arrested after the chain of murders happens, especially when Barbara's case is reopened. His inclusion reflects the broad scope of the investigation, showing how entire families were under the radar of the investigative authority, highlighting the impact of such high-profile cases.

Don Matteo, Happy Days Motel are some of the notable works of the actor, from which you can recognize him.

Valentino Mannias as Salvatore Vinci

Salvatore is the former lover of Barbara Locci and had previously been charged with the murder of his first wife. Investigators looked at him as a potential link to other Il Mostro murders, but he was later acquitted.

All four episodes of The Monster of Florence dropped on October 22, 2025.
