The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 3 recap: Alex under fire and the return of Paul Marks
The episode opens with Mia sprinting on a treadmill, motivating herself. She then gets dressed and leaves for work. While Bradley receives a text from Chip Bricks, her partner for the Wolf River Story. Mia meets Bradley, and she hypes her up before the show. The scene shifts to Bradley interviewing singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles; however, she screws it up in the end. Mia notices Bradley on her phone, storming out of the newsroom, and she confronts her. Mia asks her to meet her in the office later. Meanwhile, Alex thinks it was a terrible idea to put Bradley in the "The Morning Show" segment.
What's interesting is that Alex's live broadcast of the protestors may have saved her from losing her job, but it also put her in a tight spot. Zeke Pemberton, a capitalist who's a sponsor for UBN and runs several advertisements bringing in revenue, feels that Alex's live broadcast has ruined his company's image. Celine and Stella ask Alex to apologize to Zeke. Even though Alex hesitates a bit, and she was doing nothing but her job, they convince her to go to the seminar with Miles and apologize.
In the seminar, Zeke makes it clear that he's mad at Alex. What's interesting is that in the seminar, Alex meets Paul Marks, who is now in a relationship with Ava Carlo, whom Alex met in 2018. Later, Paul suggests that the only way Alex could get out of the mess is by running a story portraying the activists in a negative way, which might sort things out with Zeke.
What rattles Alex most is that Paul offers help without strings, something entirely out of character for him. Is Paul Marks staging a redemption arc, or is this another masterstroke of manipulation?
The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 3 recap: Bradley, Cory, and the Wolf River story
The whole investigation into the Wolf River story makes her quite absent-minded in the office, and she messes up her segment, too. When Bradley Jackson and Chip finally locate Claire Conway, Bradley calls her in episode 3 of The Morning Show Season 4. According to their deductions, Claire (the former production assistant) might be the source aiding Bradley in the Wolf River story that could damage UBN's reputation. Claire leaves a message for them. A trail hints at a corporate cover-up, with hush money linking back to UBA's former news boss, Bethanne. Bradley senses she's close to exposing something explosive, though the risk grows with each step. She asks Chip to go to Connecticut to meet her. However, when Chip meets her, she denies everything. But she slips Chip an important piece of information. She states that the 2018 UBA archives titled Wolf River depositions need to be checked thoroughly.
And then there's Cory. After weeks of tension, the inevitable happens. In Episode 3 of The Morning Show Season 4 Bradley and Cory finally cross a line and give in to years of chemistry in a moment that feels passionate.
The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 3 recap: Stella's compromise, Mia's collapse
Behind the glossy glass walls of UBN, power plays keep churning. Stella, who once vowed to keep Cory Ellison at arm's length, now finds herself blackmailed into pushing his interests after he uncovers her affair. The maneuver leaves Stella cornered, forced to advocate for Cory's return to influence while betraying her instincts and potentially her allies.
Mia, meanwhile, is gunning for the head of UBN News. It should be her win, and she has the experience, the loyalty, and the grit. But when Bradley falters on air, Mia shoulders the blame. When Stella tells Mia the change of plans and that Ben is the head of UBN, a position that should have been Mia's rightfully, Mia is devastated. The fallout is brutal, and Mia storms out in rage and disappointment, leaving Stella in tears. But before leaving, Mia tells Stella that she's quitting and their friendship is over.
