The British crime drama series Peaky Blinders was created by Steven Knight, airing its first episode in 2013, mainly centering on Tommy Shelby's gang, named Peaky Blinders. The show is set in post-World War I Birmingham. The series follows them through their journey of the gang's ascent to power and confrontations with rivals, politicians, and law enforcement.

Cillian Murphy plays the lead, and the supporting cast is quite diverse. With Netflix, the show ran for six seasons from 2013 to 2022 and gained international recognition. Production on the follow-up feature picture, The Immortal Man, started in 2024 and is slated to release on Netflix in late 2025 or early 2026.

The upcoming Peaky Blinders spinoff, with Steven Knight as its creator, will follow Shelby's descendants and is set in the 1950s. It marks a return to the show's Birmingham origins, and Birmingham has been particularly chosen for production.

Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, has confirmed that a spin-off set in the 1950s is under development and is all set to follow the Shelby descendants. Unlike previous seasons, this one will be shot entirely in Birmingham and will return the story to its roots.

Knight spoke at length about the city's lively vitality, complimenting its excellent connectedness, local talent, and friendly atmosphere. He called the initiative a "positive step" for Birmingham's expanding film and television sector as well as the Peaky Blinders' heritage.

Although the exact casting details are unknown, there is a general notion that Tommy Shelby star Cillian Murphy would make a cameo.

The link between the original series and the sequel is likely to be strengthened by his appearance in this chapter, and majorly after Murphy, Stephen Graham, and Rebecca Ferguson, particularly star in the feature film Peaky Blinders: Immortal Man, the spin-off will debut.

It is expected that the upcoming spin-off will provide a bold new age that is based on tradition but ready to forge its own identity on Birmingham's streets. This could appeal to both die-hard fans and newcomers.
