The Paper, which serves as both the follow-up and sequel to The Office, was set to release weekly episodes after premiering on 4th September 2025. The show is a mockumentary that follows Toledo Truth-Teller, a Midwestern newspaper struggling to survive, and the volunteer reporters trying to revive it.

But there has been a change in the show's release schedule. All ten episodes will be released at once on 4th September 2025.

Change in The Paper's release schedule

The Paper is created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, set in the same world as The Office. In an interesting twist, Oscar Nunez, who played Oscar Martinez in The Office, will be reprising his role in The Paper as well, this time working in the role of Head Accountant.

The crew that made the documentary on the employees of Dunder Mifflin was on the lookout for a new subject and stumbled upon Toledo Truth-Teller. Thus, their new documentary is going to be on Toledo Truth-Teller and its employees. The show will be a mockumentary like its predecessor, following employees and volunteer reporters, many of whom have no idea what they are doing.

The Paper was scheduled to release the episodes every week, but now there has been a change. The show will release all ten episodes at once on 4th September 2025 on Peacock. This means you can binge all episodes at once. No official reason has been provided for this change.

Irrespective of the reason, this change can prove whether the show is a success much earlier than it would have been if it were to release episodes weekly. It is a well-known fact that because the show comes from Greg Daniels and is a spin-off of The Office, viewers expect a lot from the upcoming mockumentary. The Office is one of the most popular shows ever made, and thus it will be hard for The Paper to reach the same success as its predecessor. The change in release schedule will at least make it clear early on how the show has fared and if it will get renewed for a second season.

Other than Nunez, the cast of The Paper includes Domhnall Gleeson as Ned Sampson, Sabrina Impacciatore as Esmeralda Grand, Chelsea Frei as Mare Pritti, Melvin Gregg as Detrick Moore, Gbemisola Ikumelo as Adelola Olofin, Alex Edelman as Adam Cooper, Ramona Young as Nicole Lee, and Tim Key as Ken Davies. Actors who are playing recurring roles are Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Eric Rahill, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts. The names of their characters are yet to be revealed.

The show's executive producers are Greg Daniels, Michael Koman, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, and Ben Silverman. The production companies behind the show are Deedle-Dee Productions, W.D.M. Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment, Banijay Americas, and Universal Television. The show has been directed by Greg Daniels, Ken Kwapis, Jennifer Celotta, Tazbah Chavez, Matt Cohn, Yana Gorskaya, Paul Lieberstein, and Jason Woliner.

All ten episodes of The Paper will be released on 4th September on Peacock.
