The Peacemaker Season 2 red band trailer was released on August 14, 2025, as the acclaimed HBO Max show prepares for its August 21, 2025, release. The red band trailer includes new scenes that not only reveal what the upcoming second season is going to be about, but it also provide a glimpse into what the DCU looks like. It is a world in which people are used to the appearance of non-human species.
This is not surprising, considering both Creature Commandos and Superman are set in a world where the general public is aware of metahumans, i.e., super-powered individuals. Superman even opens with a text that reveals that in the DCU, humans have been exposed to metahumans for centuries. Therefore, it is not surprising that Creature Commandos humorously opens with a group of men teaming up with Circe to invade Themyscira.
Now, Peacemaker Season 2 is set to show us a world in which even someone like Christopher Smith can own a game-changing technology like a pocket dimension.
Peacemaker Season 2 shows us a world where the general public is used to alien life:
The latest Peacemaker Season 2 trailer includes a humorous moment in which Christopher meets an alien of an unspecified origin inside his pocket dimension, which is dubbed the QUC, i.e., Quantum Folding Chamber. Chris greets the alien, but it doesn't seem to react to him, upsetting the titular character. Then, Chris screams at the same alien at the end of the trailer as he and Adrian Chase/Vigilante.
The humor of these moments comes from the idea that Chris was expecting some sort of courtesy from the alien. However, the presence of the alien confirms that the QUC can serve as more than just a storage area or a prison. It could also serve as a doorway to the multiverse, the series an excuse to tease cameos. Gunn himself teased a major cameo in a May 2025 Entertainment Weekly interview:
"You've seen what we call the QUC, the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, in the first season of Peacemaker, and we see more about that technology in Superman. The QUC is the center of the story in Peacemaker season 2... We see a lot of different characters from Superman in the [season], [including] Isabela and Nathan and Sean, and then we see a bunch of other characters later on in the season from other parts of the DCU and from Superman. There might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show."
The people in the DCU are used to superpowers because of centuries-long exposure:
There is a reason why Chris is unfazed by the appearance of the alien inside the pocket dimension. The answer is simple, because the culture of the DCU is completely different than the one in DCEU. It is clear from Man of Steel that people are shocked by the sudden appearance of Superman and other Kryptonians.
However, people are hardly disturbed by the sudden appearance of a monster in 2025's Superman. That's because both Gunn and the opening text of Superman revealed that the people of the DCU and metahumans have interacted for 300 years. Therefore, it is not surprising that people are used to seeing alien lives or could have access to pocket dimensions and dimension-hopping technologies, as seen in the Peacemaker Season 2 trailer.
