A new patient will be checking in at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre, as HBO Max's The Pitt Season 2 has added Sistas star Lawrence Robinson in a key role.
According to Deadline, Lawrence Robinson will play the character of Brian Hancock:
''A sweet, charming, and kind-hearted patient who turns a soccer injury into a possible meet-cute with one of the doctors.''
The medical drama, which recently bagged 13 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama and Outstanding Actor for Noah Wyle, was renewed for Season 2 in February 2025. It follows Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Wyle) and his team's 15-hour shift in the titular center's ER department as they navigate an abundance of patients while being short-staffed.
Created by R. Scott Gemmill, The Pitt Season 2 will take place over the Fourth of July weekend and will feature new actors in the roles of doctors and patients. The show received critical acclaim with its first season and was hailed as a realistic medical drama, portraying the hardships of the medical staff.

Sistas' Lawrence Robinson joins The Pitt Season 2
Lawrence Robinson will join the returning cast in The Pitt Season 2, which includes Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Shawn Hatosy, Fiona Dourif, Gerran Howell, Supriya Ganesh, and Shabana Azeez.
Robinson is best known for playing Chris in BET's Sistas. In addition, he has also appeared in projects like Heaux Phase, Angel, Three Ways, Tales, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Earlier, The Pitt Season 2 also added four new actors, including Charles Baker (Breaking Bad) as Troy, Irene Choi (Insatiable) as Joy, Laëtitia Hollard (Ravel) as Emma, and Lucas Iverson (The Gilded Age) as James.
Noah Wyle, most famously known for ER, is also an executive producer and writer on the show. Earlier, fans were shocked to learn that actress Tracy Ifeachor would not return as Dr. Heather Collins in Season 2. According to TV Line, it was not the actress' choice to leave, but rather a creative decision.
The Pitt Season 2 will continue to expand on the 'day in the life' format from Season 1 and will feature another tiresome and abnormal shift for the doctors and nurses. While Season 1 focused more on their profession and less on their personal lives, Season 2 will expand on the latter.
Moreover, since Lawrence Robinson's Brian Hancock will have a 'possible meet-cute with one of the doctors,' the show is finally introducing a romantic angle for the main cast, and it would be interesting to see a romantic dynamic between a patient and his doctor.
