The opening moments of The Price of Confession Episode 1 featured Ki-dae's funeral and Detective Ryu was assigned to the case.The initial interrogation reveals that Ki-dae lost his parents when he was quite young and Yoon-so was an orphan who grew up in an orphanage. She also reveals that she saw Ki-dae's student, Oh Seo-won, leaving his studio on the night of the murder. However, Detective Ryu is not convinced and instead suspects Yoon-so of the murder after he notices a wound on her wrist. We see a snippet of Dong-hun's imagination as he tries to piece together the night of Ki-dae's murder.He imagines Yoon-soo arriving at Ki-dae's studio for their date night, wine in hand. However, Yoon-soo lost her temper after seeing her husband with Seo-won and hit the wine bottle on his head, before stabbing him with the carving knife. With all the evidence stacked against her, Yoon-soo is sent to prison and Dong-hun's boss asks him to make the case public to distract the media from another fraud case.The final moments of The Price of Confession Episode 1 feature an actual flashback of that fateful night. As Yoon-soo arrives at the studio with the wine bottle, she sees Ki-dae lying on the floor, which practically confirms her innocence.As the news about Yoon-soo's arrest plays on the news, a mysterious woman named Mo-eun (Kim Go-eun) watches it on TV, with two dead bodies lying beside her.
