What happened in The Rainmaker Episode 1?
Episode 1 of The Rainmaker, titled Another Rainy Day, introduced the hardworking rookie attorney Rudy Baylor. However, his diligent nature and drive to fight for justice do not help him on his first day of work at a prestigious law firm.
Other than being late on his first day due to getting into a fistfight, he also gets into a debate with his new boss, Leo, on the topic of equal rights, resulting in his firing from the job. While his girlfriend, Sarah, impresses a big client in the law firm from where he was fired, he finds himself working for the bare minimum in an unknown law firm under Lana Parrilla’s Bruiser.
He then tries to take up the case of Dot Black, who wants to sue the hospital where her son, Donny Ray, who was admitted for the flu, died. This gives him a chance to fight for the right side of justice, as he senses something wrong from the hospital’s side, as they had offered $50,000 to Dot to settle the case.
Elsewhere, Sarah is appointed to take the case and represent the hospital against Dot Black, putting Rudy and her against each other. Episode 2 of The Rainmaker will explore more of the case, as we have seen Dot being followed by someone.
Further, we might also find out more about Melvin, the man who left his mother after his house caught fire at the beginning of the premiere episode, and how he is linked to the Donny Ray case, as he used to work in the same hospital where Donny died.
