After the unprecedented success of Suits, USA Network is coming up with another legal drama, The Rainmaker. The show is an adaptation of John Grisham's 1995 novel of the same name.

The series tells the story of a rookie lawyer who is fired from his firm on the very first day of his job. He then teams up with a not-so-reputed lawyer and a dishonest paralegal to work on some intriguing legal cases.

The Rainmaker is all set to premiere on August 15, 2025, with the release of its first episode. If you are excited to watch the legal drama’s debut, here are all the details you need about the premiere episode.

The Rainmaker Season 1 Episode 1 will be aired on USA Network on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10 PM ET / PT. However, the episode will not be made available for streaming at the same time. Instead, it will be dropped on Peacock a week after its television broadcast. The trend will be followed with every episode of the season.

What to expect from The Rainmaker Season 1 Episode 1?

Being the show’s debut, the episode will set up the world of Rudy Baylor, a hotshot young lawyer, and introduce the audience to main characters like Jocelyn "Bruiser" Stone, Deck Shifflet, and Leo F. Drummond.

Rudy is fired by a prestigious firm owned by Leo on his first day at the office. He then joins ambulance chaser Bruiser and paralegal Deck. However, he comes across a wrongful death lawsuit, which makes him fight against Leo in court. The logline for the first episode reads:

“Fresh out of law school, Rudy Baylor confronts Leo F. Drummond in a medical malpractice case.”

“Rudy Baylor, a young law school grad gets fired on his first day working for the powerhouse lawyer Leo Drummond, forcing him to get a job with Brusier, a tough, talented, but not exactly reputable lawyer. Her offices are located in what used to be a taco shop. Rudy and Bruiser are joined by disheveled paralegal Deck.”
“When Rudy begins to uncover possible conspiracies surrounding the death of their client's son, involving a hospital whose actions go beyond negligence to outright murder, he must go up against Leo, his one-time boss. Further complicating things? His law school girlfriend, Sarah, works for Leo.”

The Rainmaker stars Milo Callaghan as Rudy Baylor, Lana Parrilla as Jocelyn "Bruiser" Stone, P. J. Byrne as Deck Shifflet, John Slattery as Leo F. Drummond, and Madison Iseman as Sarah Plankmore. The rest of the cast includes Dan Fogler as Melvin Pritcher, Tommie Earl Jenkins as Prince Thomas, Robyn Cara as Kelly Riker, and Wade Briggs as Brad Noonan.
