The Real Housewives of Orange County's Alexis Bellino was left scratching her head after realizing Heather Dubrow skipped her wedding to John Janssen, and for reasons that hit a little too close to home. On Watch What Happens Live!, Heather explained she didn’t show because she’s tight with Shannon Beador, John’s ex. She added that while she and her husband Terry adore Shannon, they don’t really see Alexis and John as “friends as a couple.”
That reasoning didn’t sit well with Alexis, who thought she and Heather were closer, especially since she’d even asked Heather to perform at the ceremony. Awkward. The whole thing adds yet another twist to the tangled web of friendships, exes, and loyalties that The Real Housewives of Orange County does best. As Alexis put it, the snub felt personal, and it might just change their friendship for good.
The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Alexis questions her friendship with Heather
Alexis expressed her concerns during an appearance on the Reality with the King podcast. She admits being perplexed by Heather's rationale. The reality star thought they had more than a surface-level relationship.
"I thought we had a deeper friendship than that," Alexis stated.
She mentioned that they had been to dinner together several times. Alexis questioned whether their connection was just a business buddy relationship, rather than anything more meaningful. She called Heather's reply "kind of an awkward answer." Alexis pointed out that The Real Housewives of Orange County's Heather had previously stated on Watch What Happens Live! that she interacted with Alexis more regularly than Shannon. This made the wedding absence more strange.
Despite her perplexity, Alexis has not questioned Heather directly about the incident on or off The Real Housewives of Orange County. She admitted she hasn't sent any texts or reached out yet. The timing left her unsure where they stand. What makes the situation stranger is that communication between them continued as normal. Alexis revealed they texted just days before the interview. Heather even sent well wishes either on or shortly after the wedding day itself.
"Did something happen that I don't know about?" Alexis questioned.
The disconnect between their regular communication and Heather's absence doesn't add up in her mind.
The wedding ceremony explored
Alexis and John Janssen tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Laguna Beach, California. Around 140 close family members and friends attended the celebration. Several RHOC cast members made the guest list, including Jo De La Rosa, Galyna Saltkovska, and Heather Amin.
The Real Housewives of Orange County's Alexis described the day as absolutely magical when speaking with PEOPLE Magazine. She called it emotional, joyful, and a dream come true. The couple has six children combined from previous marriages. They are now focused on blending their families and building a life centered on love and faith.
Alexis remains bewildered by Heather's decision but hasn't pushed for answers yet. Their ongoing text exchanges suggest the friendship isn't completely fractured. However, the wedding absence revealed potential limits to their relationship that Alexis hadn't previously recognized.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams next day on Peacock.
