The Rookie: What happens to Elijah Stone? Details from the ABC police procedural explored

Brandon Jay McLaren’s Elijah Stone is not a character for the faint of heart. From his first arrival in The Rookie, he has created chaos and trouble for the other characters. The beginning of his engagement with the police department started with Wesley Evers. When Wesley wanted his help, Stone gave him the opportunity to help him in exchange for information about his wife.

From using manipulative techniques to spread misinformation to creating chaos, he always stayed two steps ahead of the police. However, at the end of season 5 of the series, things took a different turn for him. So, exactly how does this criminal kingpin get tangled and end up in jail in he series?

How does Elijah Stone end up in jail in The Rookie?

Elijah Stone was definitely creating a lot of trouble for the police department of The Rookie. He was too slimy to get caught by the police and always had an escape plan ready from the get-go. After his criminal activities began to get further complicated with the help of Wesley Evers, there was no turning back for him.

From using Evers to get his henchman released from prison to discrediting the witness when Elijah Stone’s cousin was involved in a crime, he forced Evers to do all his dirty work without any repercussions. However, his good days eventually came to an end when Evers began to retaliate.

Working for such a criminal was becoming too much for Evers, so he decided to make Elijah Stone pay for his actions. However, his first plan to catch Stone red-handed gets completely ruined. Elijah is too witty to fall for the wiretapping trap easily.

However, his tangles with the criminal world become his Achilles’ heel, as Abril Rodas ambushes his men, leading to his getting caught by the police. However, he comes out of the tangles easily once again because of the weakness of the case. At the end of the fifth season, Elijah is finally caught by the police during a drug deal.

Though he tries his best to make his way out of the situation by using his fighting skills, he is outnumbered and then sent to jail. We last see Elijah Stone in The Rookie in the fifth season. However, his story does not end just there. At the end of the fifth season, we see Elijah trying to make some plans to escape from the prison.

After he finds himself in the prison cell opposite Oscar, who is also a villain in The Rookie, he tries to make plans with him. It undoubtedly sets the stage for future events of his return to the series. Elijah’s interaction with Oscar indicates that he believes that his incarceration is just a temporary setback. This definitely sets the stage for his dynamic comeback in The Rookie.

Whether we will see Elijah Stone in The Rookie is yet to be revealed by the series. However, it will definitely be intriguing to see this crime boss return to the show to create some more chaos, which our beloved police officers have to sort out. Brandon Jay McLaren does an impeccable job in bringing out the complex nature of Elijah Stone in the series.
