Prime Video’s new series The Runarounds made its debut in early September 2025, created by Jonas Pate, best known for Outer Banks. The show follows a group of five friends in Wilmington, North Carolina, who form a band during their senior year of high school.

With music at the center of the story, the soundtrack has quickly become one of the most talked-about parts of the series. The cast includes William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher as the band members, with Lilah Pate, Marley Aliah, and Maximo Salas also in key roles.

To match the coming-of-age theme, The Runarounds' soundtrack mixes original tracks written for the fictional band with an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary songs. From Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones to newer acts like Wet Leg and The Backseat Lovers, the music helps shape the energy of each episode.

Mixing New Tracks with Timeless Tunes in The Runarounds

What makes the soundtrack notable is the balance between original songs performed by the fictional band and an expansive selection of well-known artists.

The choices stretch from classic rock giants like Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones to modern indie names such as Alt-J, The Nude Party, and Arcy Drive. This mixture mirrors the journey of the characters themselves: young musicians finding their voice while drawing from the past.

The Runaround is now streaming, and its soundtrack is already sparking interest among fans of both YA drama and rock music. With each episode packed with songs that highlight the story’s highs and lows; the series delivers not just a coming-of-age tale but also a wide-ranging playlist worth exploring on its own.
