The Sandman Season 2 is premiering on Netflix on July 24, 2025, and it retains most of its core cast members from the first season. The second season will be based on "Season of Mists", one of the most popular story arcs in The Sandman series by Neil Gaiman.

Tom Sturridge returns as Morpheus aka the Dream in the Sandman Season 2. In the first season he was captured and eventually after breaking free he tried to get his kingdom back in shape while also tracking down the dreams and nightmares that had escaped into the real world.
Sturridge has previously worked in projects like Sweetbitter, Waiting For Forever, Mary Shelley, among others.
Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne
Vivienne Acheampong plays the role of Lucienne in the second installment of the fantasy series. She is the librarian of the Dreaming and also took care of the same when Dream was kidnapped and captivated for centuries.
Vivienne Acheampong has previously starred in Everything Now, The Witches etc.
Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar
Gwendoline Christie plays Lucifer Morningstar in the second season. The character’s adaptation here is quite faithful to Gaiman's presentation in the book. Lucifer rules over Hell and is plotting against the living world and Dream.
Gwendoline Christie is well known for her roles in Game of Thrones, Star Wars: Episode VIII, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 etc.
Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death
Kirby Howell-Baptiste plays the role of Death, Dream’s older sister. She is not a cruel or evil being in the fantasy series and is rather kind and guides living beings into the afterlife.
Kirby Howell-Baptiste has previously been associated with projects like House of Lies, The Good Place, Barry, Killing Eve etc.
Donna Preston as Despair
Donna Preston returns in the second installment as Despair. She is another sister of Death and is a personification of the feeling of Despair. It would be interesting to see the kind of changes her character will go through in the second season.
Donna Preston has previously starred in Apocalypse Wow, Michael McIntyre's Big Show, Good Omens, among others.
