Luca Guadagnino's upcoming project, Artificial, described as a comedic drama set in the world of artificial intelligence, has a brand new addition from The Studio to the former's cast list. Fresh off his The Studio success with Apple TV, for which he recently earned an Emmy nomination as well, Ike Barinholtz has been cast as Elon Musk.
The upcoming feature from the Challengers director is a comedic take on the rapid rise of artificial intelligence in the world. Exact plot details regarding the film are being kept under wraps for the moment, but if the chatter is to be believed, the film has a reportedly controversial incident to take inspiration from. Ike Barinholtz's Emmy-nominated performance in AppleTV's The Studio led to his casting as Elon Musk in Guadagnino's Artificial, where he will be joined by another Emmy-nominated actor, Andrew Garfield, as well as Monica Barbaro, Cooper Koch, and Yura Borisov.
According to reports, Elon Musk's role in the film is primarily small and will mostly serve as comedic relief, but his controversial status in general makes Barinholtz a great choice.
Barinholtz's mesmerizing performance as Sal Saperstein in The Studio makes him an inspired choice for the role. Sal is one of the suits above Remick in The Studio and is the creative's worst nightmare. The Studio star, Ike Barinholtz, who will reportedly play the owner of the social media platform X (previously Twitter), Elon Musk, has a minor role in the film, but the fact that he is a part of it is enough to spark major discourse online.
