The Summer I Turned Pretty creator says she doesn't think fans can find this easter egg in Episode 5

The week-long wait between a new episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty is a time for fans to notice every single little detail in the episode and to dissect every scene and every expression.

However, it turns out that fans might have missed one little detail in the episode, as shared by the creator of the show and the author, Jenny Han.

Jenny Han has previously made appearances on The Summer I Turned Pretty as an innocent bystander in both seasons. This has become kind of a tradition for Han. It turns out, however, that she had a little cameo in the fifth episode of the third season, and fans have failed to find it yet.

In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Han pointed out her cameo and added that she's sure fans will not be able to figure out where exactly she appears.

"I do make a cameo in this episode," Han said. "It's just my voice. The reason why I'm even saying it now is because I don't think anyone's going to pick up on it, it's like the tiniest thing, but it made me laugh."

Jenny Han challenges fans to find her hidden cameo in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 5

Jenny Han has made a tradition out of making cameos in her shows, such as To All the Boys I've Loved Before, XO, Kitty, and The Summer I Turned Pretty. She appeared in To All the Boys for a flashback scene, whereas in the recent TV adaptation, she was present in two very popular scenes.

In the first season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Han made a cameo as a bystander during the debutante ball in the season's tail end, where she's seen grabbing a glass of champagne off a champagne tower.

Later, she also appeared in the second season when Conrad, Jeremiah, and Belly were trying to buy some beer for their farewell party for the summer house, despite being underage. Han was seen as a shopper in the convenience store where the kids were trying to get alcohol.

However, eagle-eyed fans have been looking out for Han in the recent season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, but no such cameo was observed.

Turns out, they were looking for the wrong thing. Jenny Han already made a cameo in the fifth episode, the one that features Conrad's POV, but it was just her voice that was heard.

Han did not reveal where exactly we hear her during the episode, but surely, this hint is more than enough for fans to rewatch the episodes on a loop and find out where exactly the author makes a cameo.

She said she doesn't think anyone is going to pick up on the cameo, and that is the latest challenge for fans as they wait for the next episode drop on Wednesday, August 13.
