The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 4 recap: Belly goes for wedding dress shopping
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 4 kicks off with Jeremiah wishing Belly a happy birthday from his dad’s office. Since he and Belly decided to get married, Adam offered him an internship at the firm, but things aren’t going the way they should.
Jeremiah is uncomfortable, and the whole setup feels forced rather than supportive. What was meant to be a helpful gesture is quickly turning into something that weighs him down.
The wedding is just six weeks away, but Belly and Jeremiah still haven’t received their parents’ blessing, and even Adam doesn’t seem interested or supportive. While Jeremiah continues his internship, Belly is working double shifts at Behr’s to save up for their wedding.
Later, in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 4, Belly asks Laurel to join her for wedding dress shopping, but her mom refuses. Laurel clarifies that she still hasn’t changed her mind about the wedding, and because of that, she can’t bring herself to be part of the dress shopping.
Belly then calls Taylor for help, and Lucinda tags along too. Since a real bridal store would be too expensive, they head to a prom dress shop instead. Belly doesn’t have enough saved up. Together, they start hunting for the perfect white dress.
Watching how supportive Lucinda is toward Taylor, Belly can’t help but miss her own mom. But after a long search, they finally find the dress. Taylor gets emotional seeing her best friend look so beautiful, and without a second thought, they buy it.
Jeremiah tries to win Laurel’s approval for the wedding in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3
After Belly gets the wedding dress in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 4, she calls Jeremiah to share how she truly feels right now. She mentions that she has found the dress, but is upset that her mom didn't come. Belly says:
"I don't know how I'm gonna do this without her. How are we supposed to do this without both of our moms?"
Later in the evening, Jere shows up at Belly’s house to wish her and give her a gift: The key to the Summer House. He tells her that in six weeks, the house will be hers too, and that’s why he wanted her to have the key. Belly is touched by the gesture. Just then, Laurel comes downstairs, and Jere finally asks if they can talk.
Jere tries to explain that he is "Belly's person" and the two love each other unconditionally. He even mentions that he wants them all to be a family and that their life together should start now. Although Laurel listens to Jere, she gently tells him that she still can’t support the wedding — she doesn’t believe they are ready for such a big commitment.
She suggests they wait until college is over, and if they still feel the same way, then she would be more than happy to watch Belly walk down the aisle. But for now, her stance remains unchanged.
Belly leaves the house after arguing with Laurel about the wedding

Episode 4 continues with a heated argument between Belly and her mother. Laurel firmly tells her that she won’t attend the wedding under any circumstances, which deeply upsets both Belly and Jeremiah. Frustrated and hurt, Belly decides to leave the house with Jere.
The next morning, Belly wakes up and sees Conrad is here too. Jeremiah is surprised to see his brother, as he thought Conrad had returned to California, as he wasn't picking up calls.
While on a run, Conrad catches up with Agnes and tells her that his brother just showed up with his fiancée. Just like everyone else, Conrad also feels it is too early for Belly and Jere to tie the knot. He had earlier called their wedding plans "ridiculous," which Belly and Jere later joke about while watching a movie together. As the two enjoy their moment, Conrad quietly confirms his ticket to California.
The next morning, Jeremiah leaves for his internship, and Belly admits it is hard for her to let him go, even for five days. She points out that after the wedding, they will be apart for five months because of her study program in Paris.
Not wanting to be away from him, Belly decides to cancel her Paris plans. Later, she goes to her room and remembers the moment when Laurel and Susannah surprised her with her very own bedroom at the Fisher shack. She misses those days when she used to sleep with her mother. And now, when she is getting married, Laurel isn't even close to her.
Taylor stays back, and Conrad agrees to be Jeremiah's best man in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3
In the same episode, Steven calls Taylor and tells her that the Steve guy tricked Lucinda. He is the one who resulted in her salon bleeding money, and now they need to make things right.
By the end of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 4, Belly rushes to Conrad to thank him. The reason? He agreed to be Jeremiah's second-best man on the wedding day.
Conrad even prepared dirt bombs for Belly and wishes her a happy belated birthday. Belly is touched and hugs him, leaving Conrad to think, "What have I done?" with the Billie Eilish song Halley's Comet wrapping up the episode.
