The fourth episode of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf has already taken a grave turn for Ben Edwards. The Terminal List: Dark Wolf depicts Ben Edwards’ descent into a dark path before the events of The Terminal List. If we compare Ben Edwards and Jack Reacher, it cannot be denied that both are cut from a similar cloth.

They are highly skilled, morally ambiguous, and operate outside the conventional bounds of law and order. However, Ben Edwards is definitely on a different level than Reacher when it comes to moral ambiguity.

Yes, Reacher is indeed an antihero, often operating outside legal premises, but he maintains a certain moral compass. This aspect, however, is slowly eroding in Ben Edwards as the episodes progress.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’s Ben Edwards vs Jack Reacher from Reacher

Though there are elements of moral ambiguity in Jack Reacher, he still follows a certain moral code. He is a lone wolf with his own brand of justice. Upon entering any situation, he assesses the injustice, then dives in with his immense physical strength and intellect to handle it with precision.

This has been his modus operandi for the first two seasons of Reacher. However, in the third season, we see a slow and deliberate change in his character. He leaves a trail of broken bones in his wake and is unafraid to punish the guilty. He can be described as a man who can break through any bureaucratic wall to deliver swift yet brutal justice.

On the other hand, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’s Ben Edwards sabotaged his friendships and the lives of his team members for the sake of money. He knew about the dangers of the experimental drugs given to the platoon, which resulted in brain tumors among team members. Yet the entire case was covered up with Ben Edwards’ involvement.

His calculated moves in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf are quite different from those of Jack Reacher, who prefers to put justice above all else. Ben, on the other hand, uses his skills for his own purposes instead of the greater good, adding a layer of darkness to his character.

The betrayal becomes his defining moment, making Ben Edwards even more morally ambiguous compared to Reacher. Through this betrayal, Ben has crossed a line that is hard to return from. His motivations are complex.

These reasons will be further unfolded in the upcoming episodes of the series. Edwards’ journey depicts how a person can lose their way, leading to tragic actions. The Terminal List: Lone Wolf will explore more of his eventual betrayal. Reacher definitely possesses moral ambiguity, but in this comparison, Ben Edwards currently seems to have the darker edge.

However, after the third season, Reacher’s path is also taking a darker turn. The fourth season of the series will give us a clearer picture of Jack Reacher’s trajectory.
