The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a gritty and intense prequel to Amazon Prime Video’s The Terminal List, expanding on the backstory of Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch). The series chronicles Edwards’ journey as an extremely talented Navy SEAL to an unknown, darker world of espionage and warfare, and reveals the psychological and moral depths behind this shift.

Retracing the steps of Edwards several years before the events of The Terminal List Season 1, the series plunges into the violent world of special operations, not only examining the physical toll but also the psychological burden these missions induce on the human mind.

The story shows how Edwards used to be a faithful teammate and the best friend of James Reece (Chris Pratt), and how the relationship was put to the test and finally broken.

In The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, Edwards is dishonorably discharged by the SEALs and which marks the start of his complicated path. Instead of quitting the life of the military, he gets sucked into the dark side of the CIA, the type that deals with shadowy activities. This transition takes the viewer into the murky world of intelligence services, elaborate loyalties, and heightens the level of political and personal stakes within the franchise.

In contrast with the first season, where Edwards was more of a mystery antagonist, Dark Wolf provides a look at the situation through his eyes and how and why his moral gauge starts to decline. The plot explores his reasons, how he is used by shadier powers, and the internal struggle that he goes through as he loses touch with his original ideals.
