The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 premieres on September 7, 2025, and before you dive into the post-apocalyptic world again, you must brush up on your memory about the events that happened in season 2.
In season 2, Laurent and Ash stay behind while Daryl and Carol decide to move forward with 2 travellers who tell them that they can lead them to England via the Chunnel, a Channel Tunnel. In the Chunnel, they discover that it was manned by the British army and is filled with some hallucinogenic toxins. The crew is in the tunnel without any masks and starts to hallucinate their loved ones who have now become walkers. The two travellers then turn against Daryl and Carol out of desperation for masks and make their journey ahead. At last, it is only Carol and Daryl who make it out of the tunnel.

Here is what happened in Season 2 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

Daryl bids farewell to Laurent by gifting a guitar, and they both sing a song. The scene comes out as a bittersweet one with Laurent sensing Daryl's plan to sacrifice himself while he admits he won't be coming. Carol tells Ash her secret that even she won't be leaving on the plane either. She and Daryl both are struggling with the decision to stay behind or move on.
Fallou, Codron & Akila, meanwhile, search an abandoned hospital for medicine but are ambushed by Genet’s remnants. This is where we get to know that Jacinta is leading these soldiers. Anna, in an act of defiance, deliberately misleads the soldiers into a walker horde and sacrifices her life quietly, cutting her arc short but powerfully. Akila, while able to rescue them, puts Daryl's group in greater danger as one soldier escapes.
The episode ends, revealing that Jacinta has been bitten. Therefore, this foreshadows a coming power vacuum leading to chaos among her remaining followers.
This is how The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 finally ends

With the infection widespread, Paris doesn't remain safe in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and Fallou and Cordron arrange for Daryl and Carol to reach England via the Chunnel along with 2 travellers. They aim to find a way to America from England.
Fallou tells a heartfelt story, leading to a tender goodbye kiss with Akila, who stays behind. Carol breaks down grieving about Sophia, and while Daryl tells her not to think of it as her fault.
When the group is in the Channel Tunnel, they find soldiers who had killed each other or died mysteriously. They see soldiers manning the tunnel up wearing masks, and they realise that the tunnel is filled with toxins that cause hallucinations. Soon, Carol starts to have some visions where she sees Sophia and even herself as a walker. Daryl sees Isabelle, who tells him he can’t die here, a push for him to keep going. Codron sees his brother and unravels, attacking Daryl before wandering off into the darkness.
The final twist of the episode comes when Fiona and Angus (the travellers) reveal their true colours. They attack Daryl for gas masks, and he is forced to kill them. Carol and Daryl move ahead in the tunnel in the hope of reaching "home".
