That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 gets a major update as fans wait for Season 4

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime premiered back in 2018, and despite its unconventional name that also gives away its premise, the show has been quite a hit among the audience. Based on a novel series by Fuse, the show follows the story of Mikami Satoru, as described in its official synopsis

“After an assailant murders office worker Mikami Satoru, he finds himself reborn as a remarkably powerful slime in an alternate world, where he begins a quest to promote harmony among the world's different races.”

There have been 3 seasons of the anime with That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 premiering on April 5, 2024. While fans are now waiting for the show to come back with its fourth season, they have a bit of good news as season 3 is finally set for a Blu-ray + DVD release.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 will be available on Blu-ray + DVD

Crunchyroll has announced that the third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will be released on Blu-ray + DVD on July 22, 2025. However, the Blu-ray + DVD edition is labeled as Part 1, which means part 2 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 will be released later.

The second part of the third season of the show consists of episodes 49 to 60 and fans will have to wait for a while before they can get their hands on those. The episodes in the second part had given the story a political context and fans are still divided on whether it made the show better or worse.

While the Blu-ray + DVD release is certainly good news for the fans, they will have to wait a little longer for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4. After Season 3 concluded in September, the show was renewed for the next season almost immediately, showing the popularity it holds among viewers.

As the wait for the next season is getting longer and here is still no teaser or trailer for Season 4, even though it's already mid-2025, fans are now speculating that perhaps the new season will hit the screens in 2026.

However, besides the fourth season, there is also going to be a movie that is based on the show, and the same has been confirmed by Crunchyroll. Therefore, when That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise returns, it will have a lot to offer to its fans.
