Netflix premiered The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 on June 25, 2025. The reality show's first episode, titled, Either You Want to Marry Me or Not, introduced six couples.

Show host JoAnna Garcia Swisher introduced them and explained how the experience would work. From the next day, the couples were singles and they went on many dates. The first episode of The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 also featured a cocktail party. It was overwhelming for many contestants.

The first episode of the reality show ended with an emotional cliffhanger. It was between Dayna and Magan, as the former felt it might be "too much" for her to be in a trial marriage with someone else.

Neflix describes the first episode of The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 as:

"After one last night together, the couples go their separate ways to date the other newly single participants as chemistry and confusing emotions swirl."

The Ultimatum: Queer Love host JoAnna Garcia Swisher welcomed the couples and introduced them. Britney was ready to get married, so she issued an ultimatum to AJ. Second couple, Haley issued an ultimatum to her partner, Pilar.

"I love everything about Pilar. I love that we can look at each other from across the room and just one glance and I'm like, I was thinking the same thing. It's more than a third of our lives together. There's just no one that knows each other like we know each other," said Haley.

Show host JoAnna then explained that couples would be spending their last night together. The next day, they would accept the Ultimatum.

"You will break up, and you will be exes. Over the next week, you will date all of your new potential partners, and that is everyone in this room," the host explained.

She also mentioned that they would meet again after a week at The Choice. Then, the singles will choose a new partner, and they will move in together for three weeks to live in a trial marriage. After that, they would do the same, again, with their original partner.

Original couples who entered The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2:

  1. AJ and Britney: Dating for 5 years
  2. Marie and Mel: Dating for 4 years
  3. Haley and Pilar: Dating for 10 years
  4. Kyle and Bridget: Dating for 2.5 years
  5. Dayna and Magan: Dating for 1.5 years
  6. Marita and Ashley: Dating for 3 years

After spending the last night together, couples broke up and went on dates with fellow singles. As couples went on many dates throughout the day, there was a cocktail party at night.

Britney's original partner, AJ, after seeing everyone at the party, shared with the cameras:

"I came in this process with Britney, but I'm digging everybody. Dayna looks hot as shit. Bridget looks phenomenal, killing it. Marita's killing it in her brown dress. She's white chocolate. Giving chocolate vibes. Pilar looks like the Golde ticketn you just found out the chocolate bar. And yeah, I'm a hoochie daddy without the shorts."

At the Cocktail party, while everyone was trying to find their potential partner, some of them felt uncomfortable seeing their partners talking to other singles. Magan struggled to find a romantic partner. Seeing AJ vibing with other singles, Britney also felt emotional.

Later that night on The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2, Magan came to Dayna's room and shared how she felt about the experience.

"I'm having a hard time letting you go and saying that I'm single," said Magan.

Magan told Dayna that while staying in a trial marriage and going through with the "marriage things," she had her doubts. She said she couldn't get past certain things if they were to happen during that time.

Magan said it was "too much" for her and wanted to walk away from the experience. The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 Episode 1 ended with their unfinished emotional conversation.
