The show is moving in a new direction in the third season as Daryl and Carol have reached Spain in their endeavour to return home and reunite with their loved ones. While things seem to be going fine momentarily, the threat of the dead starts haunting them again soon. The official synopsis of the season reads:

“[Season 3 will] follow Daryl and Carol as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.”

The two leads of the series are reprising their roles in the upcoming season. Norman Reedus returns as Daryl Dixon, and Melissa McBride comes back as Carol Peletier. However, since the duo has reached Spain, a number of actors have left the show, while multiple new characters are being introduced in the third installment.

The new additions to the cast include Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay, and Eduardo Noriega, who have joined the drama as regulars. Actor Stephen Merchant will have a guest role in the show, while Candela Saitta and Hugo Arbués will make recurring appearances.
