The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 is midway through its run, and Episode 4 is all set to bring more tension, grit, and hard choices. In Manhattan, the danger is growing, and no one is safe. Episode 4 of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, titled Fiesty Friendly, drops on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 9 pm ET on AMC and AMC+.

Previously, we saw how the New Babylon Federation recruited Maggie for their mission. Surprisingly, Hershel Rhee, Maggie's son, also joined their journey to Manhattan. In Episode 2, the Croat and the Dama's group attacked the New Babylon's ferries, leaving several dead while the survivors, including Maggie, Hershel, and Ginny, barely managed to escape and reach the Manhattan shores. Negan, however, diverted the attack when he saw Hershel. The Dama noticed his move and later, as an act of revenge, killed Victor. Well, things are far more complex than they appear. In Episode 3, Hershel's past and his motives were revealed. The episode featured flashback moments of the Dama and Hershel. It portrayed how the Dama brainwashed Hershel and almost made him a puppet to aid her evil plan.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 3: A quick refresher

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 3, titled Why Did the Mainlanders Cross the River? released on May 18, 2025. This episode delved deep into the secrets of The Dama and Hershel Rhee. In a flashback scene, the viewers saw how the Croat initially locked Hershel in a dark and damp prison. Meanwhile, the Dama tried to bond with Hershel. She provided him with good food, clothing, shelter, and even materials to sketch. She narrated how his mother, Maggie, was obsessed with Negan. The young boy was easily manipulated by the Dama, and he agreed to aid her in her plans. The Dama used Hershel's artistic vision to paint a city that she envisioned and instructed him accordingly. It was quite clear by the end of the episode that Hershel was aiding The Dama, for instance, he lit the smoke signal to alert the Croat about the upcoming New Babylon's attack.

In the present scenario, the survivors of the New Babylon tried to seek shelter in a park, however, a walker attacked and killed one of them. Hershel sneaked away from the survivors' group and began to find his location through his sketch. Eventually, he encountered a girl called Joan, who had saved him earlier, and she was quite fascinated by his sketch. Later, Maggie and the survivors of the New Babylon group took refuge in a building (Cafe on the Lake). Inside the building, they met a group of survivors headed by a woman called Roksana.

Meanwhile, Waylan, a member of the Croat's gang, tried to kill Joan. Just as he was about to strike Hershel, Negan stabbed him with a spear and fled into the forest. He later came back and informed the Croat that Waylan was killed by a walker. When Hershel took Joan to the shelter, it was already too late. During the funeral, Roksana ripped open Joan's chest and took her heart and threw it outside for the walkers. Maggie finally understood the mystery behind the walkers without a heart.

In between the chaos and rising tensions, a small sneak peek shows an interaction between Negan and Maggie. As Negan utters,
