The world of crime series is going to get yet another intriguing addition with Chris Brancato’s The Westies. At the heart of The Westies is an Irish-American crime gang. The premise of the series is quite promising, and so is the casting. Besides the already announced cast members of the series, a recent announcement added three new actors for this MGM+ crime show.

The Westies brings forth three new additions to the cast

The recent announcement regarding The Westies had some great news about the show’s cast. The newest addition to the cast includes Aidan Wojtak-Hissong. He is famed for his roles in I Am Not Okay with This, Falling Water (2016), and The Mission (2018). Though he is still a very new face in the industry, he has already gained quite a reputation for bringing life to his characters, especially in I Am Not Okay with This.

Here he plays the role of Liam Novak. Besides Aidan Wojtak-Hissong, Dylan Taylor, and Jeremy Walmsley will also be a part of the upcoming series. Dylan Taylor has worked in a multitude of movies and TV shows, where he is known to bring his distinct flavour. His addition to any project undeniably makes it worth watching.

Dylan Taylor's notable works include Reasonable Doubt, Covert Affairs, where he had a recurring role, Station Eleven, and many more. Similarly, Jeremy Walmsley is best known for his works in Cross (2024), Wintertide (2023), Nurses (2020), and many more. These three actors each have their own impressiveness. Hence, their addition is an intriguing factor in this upcoming crime series.

The plot of The Westies dives deep into the world of crime. Westies is the name of the gang, and they navigate through the brutal world of crime in the area of Hell’s Kitchen. The series will undoubtedly feature intense violence, which will be further heightened by the internal conflicts that the gang members will face amongst themselves.

Before the addition of the three new cast members, the cast of the series involved actors such as J.K. Simmons as Eamon Sweeney, Titus Welliver, who will be playing the role of Glenn Keenan, an NYPD officer. Though Glenn Keenan is an NYPD officer, he also has deep ties with the gang and the workings of the gang. Hence, there is a layer of duality in his character.

Titus Welliver is known to always bring his A-game in the projects that he takes on. As we have already seen Titus Welliver in crime shows like Sons of Anarchy, it can be expected that he will perfectly embody his role in this upcoming series as well.

Chris Brancato is helming the show along with Michael Panes. Though the official date for the release of this show is yet to be announced, it can be expected that the show will be released soon.

With the addition of the intriguing cast and a story worth diving into, The Westies sets the stage for a look into the criminal groups in a distinct, nuanced manner. For the fans of shows like Peaky Blinders and The Sopranos, this upcoming MGM+ show should be at the top of their watchlist.
