What happened in The Winning Try Episodes 7 and 8?
In Episodes 7 and 8 of The Winning Try, the rugby team displayed their best score yet, against Daesang, and did not let them win easily, like before. This resulted in Coach Song, Ga-ram’s former coach, giving them great scouting reviews, which resulted in the rugby team getting calls from Colleges/Universities to recruit them for their team.
Further, the team and Ga-ram also successfully helped Ung get over his trauma, due to which they lost to Daesang High in the President’s Cup match. The episode also showcased Ga-ram and I-ji’s relationship improving after she finds out about his illness.
While the rugby team is making progress to achieve its goal of becoming National champions, U-jin’s dreams are facing hurdles due to coach Nak-gyeon’s interference. Even after winning a Gold Medal, he provided a recommendation letter to Seol-hyeon, and not to U-jin.
At the end of episode 8 of The Winning Try, U-jin confronts her coach about this bias and threatens to report his admission fraud. However, as he tries to stop her from going away, U-jin gets injured as she hits her head hits the glass trophy cabinet.
I-ji comes at the right time to help U-jin, but is stopped by Coach Nak-gyeon. She then takes the gun and threatens Nak-gyeon to stay away from U-jin, and also shows him that she has recovered from her yips by shooting the gun.
