According to sources, the Netflix adaptation of The Witcher is finally going to adapt an extremely popular aspect of Ciri from the books and her character model in The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt.
This might come as no surprise to the audience who is familiar with the video game or the books, but reportedly, Freya Allan, who plays Ciri on the Netflix adaptation, has been seen on the sets of the fifth and final season sporting the iconic facial scar. Here's why this is extremely exciting.
The Witcher is finally bringing Ciri's iconic facial scar to the fifth and final season

Ciri was first seen with a scar on her face in the novel Tower of the Swallow. Then, her character model was seen sporting it in The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt, after which it became exponentially popular. Netflix has strayed far away from its source material in the adaptation so far. So, there is a very low chance that it will cover the same material as the source.
However, it was confirmed that the fifth and final season will take up parts of Tower of the Swallow for adaptation, including Ciri's scar. In the source material, Ciri gets her scar while she's escaping. Ciri had been captured by mercenary headhunter Leo Bonhart, who is set to be played by Sharlto Copley.
He then handed her over to Nilfgaardian intelligence agent Stefan Skellan, set to be played by James Purefoy. Ciri somehow manages to escape Skellan, but not before he launches an Orion at her, which opens up her face and later results in the iconic scar that Freya Allan's Ciri will be sporting in The Witcher Season 5.

In the novel, Ciri rides into the nearby woods on the dark horse Kelpie and passes out, where she is found by Vysogota, the exiled physician who heals her back to health. It is unclear at the moment if Vysogota will be a part of the fifth season. So, the Netflix adaptation might take a different route here. However, the scar is definitely involved.
The Witcher has a large amount of ground to cover when it comes to Ciri's story, including her experiences with Bonhart, the fighting pits, the Skellen escape, and the ice skating sequence as well. The show might be pulling out some of the events that occur in Ciri's adventure, because there is a lot of material for a small number of episodes.
Showrunner Lauren Hissrich has repeatedly insisted that the ending of the final season will be faithful to the books. So, hopefully, Ciri's journey, as well as the events at Stygga Castle, will be the same as those in the books.
The Witcher Season 4 is all set to release on Netflix in 2025.
