It’s been six years since Elmore’s favorite chaos gremlins last graced our screens, and now, The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball is finally here — serving up even more surreal humor, absurd antics, and fourth-wall-breaking brilliance. With its U.S. premiere landing on Hulu and Disney+ on July 28, 2025, fans are buzzing not just about the jokes, but also about the voices behind those iconic characters.

And yes, the cast may sound a little different this time around. That’s because the beloved characters are being brought to life by a brand-new generation of voice talent — a necessary shift, considering how much time has passed since the original series ended. Thankfully, the heart, humor, and lovable chaos of Gumball remains perfectly intact.

Let’s take a closer look at The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball cast — both the fresh voices and the familiar ones — who are giving Elmore its sound back.

At the top of the roster is Alkaio Thiele, now voicing the show’s titular troublemaker, Gumball Watterson. You may have noticed some confusion earlier this year when the trailer dropped — fans were quick to note that Gumball’s voice sounded off, leading Thiele to clarify on Instagram that he didn’t voice the character in that trailer.

But rest assured, the series itself features his official debut. Thiele’s comedic timing and energetic delivery are right on the money, bringing Gumball’s lovable absurdity back with flair.

Joining him is Hero Hunter as Darwin Watterson — Gumball’s best friend, brother, and goldfish-turned-boy. Hunter’s take on Darwin nails the character’s endearing innocence, pairing perfectly with Thiele’s chaotic energy.

Rounding out the Watterson kids is Kinza Syed Khan as Anais, the resident genius whose intelligence often goes hilariously unnoticed by her dysfunctional family. These three newcomers step into some very big animated shoes — and they’re doing so with confidence and quirk to spare.

Thankfully, not everything has changed in Elmore. Returning to the mic is Teresa Gallagher, once again voicing the fierce and perpetually overworked Nicole Watterson. Her performance continues to strike the perfect balance between loving mom and barely-contained rage monster.

Likewise, Dan Russell returns as Richard Watterson, the doughy, clueless patriarch whose parenting philosophy could best be described as “wing it and hope for snacks.”

The supporting cast also features returning talents like Rich Fulcher and Giles New, along with newcomers stepping in for the show’s wider ensemble. And with the series' creative team — including original creator Ben Bocquelet — back in the mix, the characters sound just as vibrant and chaotic as ever, even with a few new voices behind the scenes.

So while the voices may have changed, The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball still hits all the right notes: clever, chaotic, and hilariously heartfelt. Elmore has never sounded so weird — and that’s exactly how we like it.
