Amazon Prime Video's biblical historical show The Chosen Season 5 featured Jesus Christ's Last Supper with his 12 Apostles before His eventual crucifixion.
After featuring many important biblical stories from Christ's life, like walking on water, turning water into wine, and even resurrecting a few disciples, the drama series featured one of the most crucial moments from the Holy Scriptures, Jesus Christ's Last Supper.
The importance of this meal is echoed throughout Christianity, as it was the last meal Jesus Christ shared with his 12 lucky disciples before he was arrested and handed over to the Romans.
Talking about this important segment in The Chosen Season 5 to Variety, creator Dallas Jenkins noted:
"There are really key moments, such as the washing of the feet, the betrayal of Judas and some of the prayers and practices of a traditional Passover meal that aren’t talked about in scripture, but are very important and historical.''

While the Christian historical series brought many episodes from the New Testament to life, The Chosen Season 5's Last Supper was surely one of the most important stories from the scriptures and Jesus Christ's life.
Fans already know what is to come in the show's final arc, which made the momentous sequence of the Last Supper even more intense.
Talking about the format of the Last Supper in The Chosen Season 5, Jenkins and his team decided not to feature a dedicated episode to this momentous story. Instead, each episode opened with one scene from the Last Supper, detailing a crucial moment between Jesus Christ and his Apostles.
In addition, the story was also depicted in reverse chronology, where the first episode opened with what happened at the end of the meal and worked its way in reverse through the subsequent episodes.
While this approach was quite new, Jenkins thinks that the sequence demanded it, as he told Variety:
''There are things that we are doing with relationships that aren’t from scripture, so to just put it all in one episode would have been emotionally exhausting and short-shrifted it.”
In addition, each snippet of the Last Supper shown in The Chosen Season 5 aligned with the theme of that episode, making it a cohesive whole. Since the story is one of the most important in the history of Christianity, it was perfect to set up the final arc, bringing this season to a close.
The Chosen Season 5: What can you expect from Episodes 6-8?
The Chosen Season 5 Episodes 6-8 will be released on Prime Video on June 29, 2025, at 3:00 am ET. However, for regions including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa, the UK, and Latin America, the final part of Season 5 will be released on July 27, 2025.
After the Last Supper, Episodes 6-8 will feature another important sequence from Jesus Christ's life, the Garden of Gethsemane, where He was betrayed and handed over to the Romans for His eventual crucifixion.
In addition, the final episodes will also continue to highlight his relationship with his Apostles and the last intimate moment with the Father, following which Christ will be taken to his inevitable fate as per the Holy Scriptures.
