The synopsis of Trainwreck: Poop Cruise reads as:
"An engine fire leaves 4,000 passengers stranded at sea without power and plumbing in this wild documentary about the infamous "poop cruise" of 2013."
Here’s a list of 7 details from Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, from the fire that caused the many problems the passengers suffered to the efforts the company put to conceal the extent of the problems on the ship.
7 details from Trainwreck: Poop Cruise can literally give you trust issues
7) Fire in a diesel generator

As seen in the Netflix documentary, Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, the first three days were great as the passengers were enjoying their vacation and also visited Cozumel, Mexico. The fourth day was the day when they were en route to Galveston, Texas, from where they had started their journey.
However, on the 4th day, the disastrous journey began when the passengers were woken up after an emergency report that the engine room was on fire. It was revealed in the documentary that one of the six diesel generators had caught fire. It panicked several customers, with some of them thinking this might be it, and the ship might go down now. A journey that was promised to be an entertaining four days turned into a disaster overnight, which might be a cause of a trust issue among the viewers.
6) The power goes off in the ship

While they were informed about everything being in control by the cruise director, the power in the whole ship went out. The lights and the ACs were not working, which meant the passengers could not be in their rooms as they were now pitch dark, and without ACs, it was suffocating for them. Trainwreck: Poop Cruise also showed how passengers had to shift to the decks in the blazing sun.
Furthermore, since the electricity was cut off, the refrigerators also did not work, and there were not many food options apart from onion and lettuce sandwiches, resulting in all the necessary things needed for the comfort of the passengers being sparse or entirely missing.
5) No cell phone signals

Apart from the scarcity of food and no electricity, another major problem shared by the passengers in the Trainwreck: Poop Cruise documentary was the non availability of the cellphone signals. The passengers were unable to call their family on land and also to ask for help, and were completely cut off from everyone.
One of the passengers, Rebekah, talked about how she was scared as she could not talk to her mother due to the cell phones not working. She said:
"As a 12-year-old, it’s very scary not to be able to talk to my mom."
With not being able to contact anyone, the passengers might have felt helpless, which is another reason to cause trust issues among people who might have anticipated a cruise trip in the near future.
4) Toilets not working

The most horrifying problem that the 4000 passengers in the Carnival cruise Triumph faced was not being able to use the toilets since the flush did not work without electricity. As per Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, they were given red bags to poo and were asked to use the shower to urinate.
Devin, another passenger from the Triumph, shared:
"You walked down a hallway and all of a sudden, squish-squish-squish-squish…we were in excrement."
Excrement and urine could be found everywhere in the ship. Another reason that might cause trust issues is if you are planning your next cruise trip.
3) Did not mention the toilets in their holding statement to the media

As seen in Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, the cruise ship had a satellite phone which one of the employees used to contact their company, informing them about the grievous situation in the cruise. While they were trying to help the ship come back to the shore, they also hid the extent of the problems the passengers were suffering from on the ship.
While putting out a holding statement to the media, the company only informed them about a fire on the cruise, but nothing related to the toilets not working, and the passengers surviving in miserable conditions. Hiding such important details about an event that is as big as this is another example that might cause trust issues among people.
2) Nine incidents of faulty fuel lines on Carnival cruises in two years

Frank Spagnoletti, a maritime lawyer, shared in the Netflix documentary, Trainwreck: Poop Cruise that the cruise should not even be at the sea as it was bound to be a failure. While sharing documents to support his stance, he said that just like the Triumph, there were nine more incidents in the two years where, due to faulty fuel lines, fires occurred while the ships were at sea. He further said it was like playing Russian roulette with the lives of the people.
These new informations shared by the lawyer can be one of the top reasons to cause trust issues among people, as without rectifying a problem that the company was aware of, they were sending these ships into the sea with thousands of people on board.
1) The Carnival cruise ticket contract reads that they make no guarantees of safe passage and living conditions

The most shocking information shared in Trainwreck: Poop Cruise was the ticket contract of the Carnival. As shared in the Netflix documentary, even after spending these days in miserable conditions, the passengers would not have been able to sue the company as their ticket said they are not responsible for anything that happens on the ship. Whether it’s about safe passage, good food, or appropriate sanitation and living conditions, they were responsible for nothing.
The contract might be the top reason to have trust issues among people against the big cruise companies like Carnival.
