The 13th episode of the 3rd season of Young Sheldon begins on a fun note but includes a surprisingly emotional moment with regards to Connie/Meemaw. The episode begins with Connie’s boyfriend Dale, going on a camping trip and George and Georgie also following along. However, things get complicated when Dr. John Sturgis also tags along with the group. Dale is not particularly happy and tries to keep making some mean remarks to John, who takes it in his stride. However, the most emotional moment of the episode happens when Connie decides to visit her deceased husband, Charlie’s grave, and shares an emotional moment with him. She talks to her husband about how she is trying to live her life to the best as he would have wanted but sometimes struggles with her health and her dating issues. She also tells Charlie that she misses having him around. The moment is poignant as Connie is someone who always cracks jokes and lives life to the fullest in front of others. However, this small moment reveals another side of hers. Connie also tells Charlie that while Dale reminds her of him, John is a unique person. As she wonders about the afterlife of Charlie, another sweet moment happens as a guy called Kenneth comes to visit his departed wife and tells Connie that everything is great up there. The scene is heart-wrenching as the two people who have lost their partners, reconnect at the graveyard. Ultimately, Connie comes back to her natural self and tells Charlie humorously that she is much in demand even at her age.

The final episode of the sixth season of Young Sheldon ends on a bittersweet note. The episode begins with Mary and Sheldon getting ready to board a flight to Germany as Sheldon will be studying there for a few months. While everyone is excited, Missy does not share the same feelings. In the last few episodes, Missy is angry at her parents for sidelining her and only caring about Sheldon. She is particularly angry with Mary the most. However, some of the most emotional moments happen when George Sr. and Missy are coming back from the airport after saying goodbye to Sheldon and Mary. As they are driving back, a tornado hits Texas and Missy gets scared. George Sr. handles the situation and in one of the most emotional moments between the father and daughter, George and Missy get out of the car and lie down on the ground, while George covers her daughter and protect her. Missy becomes tearful and apologizes to her father for behaving rudely. The bonding moment between the two is therefore extremely poignant. However, another sad moment occurs in the same episode. Connie takes shelter at the laundromat but after the storm is over and she comes to her home, she realizes that her entire home has been destroyed by the tornado. This makes Connie feel defeated and powerless even though she is a strong woman. However, George welcomes Connie and Mandy into his house.

Fans of Young Sheldon know that no other moment is as devastating and emotional as the 12th episode of the 7th season of the show. The episode is especially emotional as it begins on a light note and leaves the viewers stunned by the time it ends. This is the episode where the Cooper family is moving to Houston and Sheldon is moving to California for college. Everyone is happy as both Sheldon and his family are moving on to greater heights. George is happy that he will be coaching the baseball team of a prestigious college and Sheldon decides to check off all the things that he wants to do in Medford. Mary decides that this is also the perfect moment for a family portrait, which is a Texas tradition. However, after the initial wave of happiness, the episode takes an abruptly emotional turn. George leaves his house to go for work and Mary reminds him to come back on time for the family picture. As everyone is getting ready in the evening, Mary begins to worry about George not arriving. However, Principal Petersen and Coach Wayne arrive at their house to share the devastating news that George had a heart attack at school and has passed away. As Mary, Connie, and Missy begin to cry, the show has the most emotional moment till date. While Sheldon is unable to cry and is in shock, the episode ends on a grim note. There is another instance where an emotional moment occurs in the episode between George Sr. and Georgie. Georgie tells his father that he will be a successful businessman and George Sr. appreciates him instead of the usual sarcastic remark that he makes to his son. This entire episode is therefore one of the most emotional moments in Young Sheldon.

4. A High-Pitched Buzz and Training Wheels

In season 2, episode 1, Sheldon narrates about his sensitivity to various random things. Fans of the show know that Sheldon famously wears gloves when his family prays because he is paranoid about getting infection. In this episode, Sheldon develops a new obsession. He begins to hear a buzzing noise from the family’s fridge, which only he can hear. Sheldon takes down the entire house trying to stop the noise but nothing works. Hilariously, Missy persuades Sheldon to open the fridge and rectify the issue. Sheldon ends up wrecking the fridge and George and Mary come home to a broken appliance. George has to ultimately pay a hefty fee to get the fridge restored. And he is understandably angry so he goes to Sheldon’s room and gives the young boy a scolding and a lesson about paying back the money. This ends up in a sweet and emotional moment as Sheldon cries profusely after his dad scolds him. Ultimately, Sheldon is a young boy and getting a scolding from your parents is never a happy prospect. However, Missy realizes her fault and hugs Sheldon lovingly. While the above point confirms what the audience already knew that Sheldon’s father will die when he is a teenager, there is another episode in the show that gives viewers a moment of shock as George Sr. gets hospitalized over chest pain. The first season’s third episode focuses on George Sr. beginning to have chest pain and being rushed to the hospital at night by Mary. The Young Sheldon episode also has some light-hearted moments as Meemaw comes over to take care of the children while Mary and George are at the hospital. This leads to some funny moments as Meemaw ends up sleeping and Georgie decides to take Sheldon and Missy and drive Meemaw’s car over to the hospital. The episode is funny but poignant as the children are worried for their father’s health and Georgie decides to drive a car for the first time. The episode also reflects Sheldon’s love for her father, even though he always thought of his father as a simpleton. In a previous instance, Sheldon has mocked faith and religion because of his atheism. However, after George is admitted to the hospital and Sheldon sees a glimpse of his father on the hospital bed with tubes surrounding him, Sheldon begins to pray for his father’s good health. This early health scare in the show foreshadows the heart-breaking effect that George’s death will have on Sheldon towards the show’s end.

In the 17th episode of the second season of Young Sheldon, there is an element of surprise as Mary becomes pregnant with her fourth child. The pregnancy was unexpected and unplanned and even though George is worried about the additional financial burden that it will cost, Mary decides to take it as a sign from God and is ready to expand the family. The whole situation is handled in a comedic manner as George tries to negotiate for a salary raise at Medford High and Mary dodges the pharmacist who is the dad of one of Missy’s classmates. The episode swings from feelings of shock to acceptance and happiness. George is even able to get a higher salary paycheck and is excited to break the news to Mary. However, the episode ends on an emotional note as Mary informs George that she has had a miscarriage. While this storyline is only touched upon briefly in the show and mentions again, it is still one of the major emotional moments in Mary’s life and as George and Mary sit by each other quietly, trying to take the news in, even the viewers feel sympathy for the Coopers who have just lost a child.

Missy has always been that child who has been sidelined the most. While Georgie has found ways to deal with it, Missy has problems at being ignored in favor of Sheldon. In season 4, episode 18, the episode begins with Missy coming back home annoyed from school. Meemaw and George, both try to cheer her up but she locks herself in her bedroom. It is later revealed that Missy has had her first breakup. Sheldon however, has always been neglectful of social markers like empathy and sympathy and barges into Missy’s room and begins to argue with her. As viewers, one feels for Missy as she is already going through her first heartbreak and then she must deal with the quirks of her brother. In anger, she tears off a poster of Mr. Proton, who Sheldon adores. When George hears them fighting, he gets angry at the both of them. During all this commotion, Mary also comes home from her job at the Church and is annoyed that even after coming back from work she has to handle the kids. Instead of scolding both Missy and Sheldon, Mary only scolds Missy for her behavior. Missy retaliates by shouting and crying and questioning her mother about her bias towards Sheldon. The episode is poignant as the young teenager is going through adolescent problems and has no one to confide in. Finally, Missy decides to escape from her room’s window and finds Sheldon, who is apologetic. The two spend some time in a wooden cabin, which is Missy’s secret place and they finally patch up.
