One of the most high-octane moments comes in the opening moments of FUBAR. In the season’s first episode, the viewers are immediately thrown into the middle of an undercover mission as Luke Brunner (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is covering a covert mission in Guyana. He is posing as a mild-mannered repairman. However, Luke is actually surveilling a dangerous arms dealer. The sequence quickly turns into a volatile action scene as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character’s Luke’s cover is blown, and the actor shows off insane combat skills with a smoothness that is unbelievable at his age. Luke uses improvised weapons like a wrench and an electrical cord to take down the guards, and Arnold Schwarzenegger showcases his sharp instincts during choreographed action scenes using brute force. When the backup fails to arrive, Luke has to create a daring escape for himself and uses smoke grenades, a zipline through the roof, and masterful driving through enemy’s fire. The opening scene of FUBAR establishes that Arnold Schwarzenegger still knows how to steal the screen and blends hand-to-hand combat, strategic intelligence, and high-powered action, to bring the viewers a scene in FUBAR that is unforgettable and delivers on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s strength.

2. The father-daughter fight

One of the most emotional yet humorous action moments in FUBAR occur in Episode 2 of Season 1, when Arnold Schwarzenegger as Luke and his daughter Emma get into a heated sparring match in a training facility. The fight occurs at that point of the show when Luke and Emma have finally come to know after years of secrecy that they are both actually CIA agents. Frustrated with each other, the two begin to undertake a regular fighting drill as a practice but it quickly turns personal as they both argue with each other while using tactical hand-to-hand combat. The fight is a symbol of the clash of ideologies between the two and the two take out their resentment and annoyance at each other through this fight. The fight unleashes the strength of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who not only displays his physical skills but also showcases his emotional vulnerability as a father and a soldier. While Emma blames Luke for being absent due to the spy work, Luke is stunned to discover that his daughter has chosen the dangerous world of the CIA. The scene is gripping and has an emotional weight. Arnold Schwarzenegger displays his old-school strength and agility and even though he momentarily disarms Emma, he hesitates as a father. It is one of the most intense moments in FUBAR.

3. The motorcycle chase

Episode 3 of Season 1 of FUBAR continues to deliver on the action quotient. The episode has one of the most exhilarating action scenes as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Luke Brunner finds himself on the run after a surveillance mission gets botched up, leading to a ruthless confrontation with armed mercenaries. The scene is stylish, and Arnold Schwarzenegger looks apt for the part. The scene begins within a bustling European market square and covers alleyways, underground parking lots, and highways, as Luke commands the scene while riding a bike. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bike scene reminds viewers of his Terminator days, as the actor rides the bike with focus and showcases seasoned calm and dodged high-octane gunfire. The scene feels immensely nostalgic and has been done in a modern manner with drone shots and seamless stunts. The best part of this scene in FUBAR is that while there is chaos and mayhem all around Arnold Schwarzenegger, he remains calm, and even manages to throw witty and humorous quips at his pursuers. The chase ends with Luke launching his bike over a moving train and landing perfectly. You know once again that Arnold Schwarzenegger still rules the screen in FUBAR.

4. Interrogation explosion scene

While FUBAR is an all-out action show with touches of comedy, it also has intense and suspenseful scenes that make it a top-notch thriller. One of these scenes happens in Episode 4 of Season 1. The scene builds in intensity and it is a treat to watch Arnold Schwarzenegger. The actor is in his vintage form as his character Luke is captured while an intel-gathering mission goes awry. Luke is brought to a grim and stuffy interrogation room and he is tied to a chair. Luke’s captors underestimate him because of his age and Luke uses this moment to find out loopholes for escape. There is a slow build-up in the scene as Luke assesses his surroundings and uses misdirection and psychological manipulation to catch his captors in a moment of weakness.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is his usual calm and steely self, and when his character notices a loose pipe, a faulty light fixture, and a guard who is not doing his job, he begins to gain the upper hand. As one of the interrogators try to rough him up, Luke presents a blend of mock vulnerability and resolve. Then, all of a sudden, Luke springs into action, disarms a guard with his handcuffs, and headbutts another. Luke even rigs a nearby oxygen cannister to explode and uses the blast to knock down a wall and escape through it. It is a classic Arnold Schwarzenegger scene, where the actor uses his brain and brawns to get out of a dangerous situation in FUBAR.

5. The cargo plane scene

The second season of FUBAR really amps up the notch when it comes to action and humor. In the third episode, viewers witness a cargo plane sequence and it immediately shows that Arnold Schwarzenegger can take on any type of action, whether it is high-stakes or high-altitude. Luke Brunner boards an enemy-operated aircraft mid-flight to rescue a captured informant with crucial information. This mission is also off-the-books and the moment Luke gets inside the aircraft, the tension is unbelievable. Yet, in all this tension, Arnold Schwarzenegger, showcases his steely resolve. Luke has to fight against gravity, air pressure, and a heavily-armed security detail. The scene begins on a stealthy note as Luke uses shadows and equipment crates for cover. He takes out the guards swiftly and silently with pistol silencers. However, once he is discovered, the scene turns into a full-blown combat inside the confined cargo hold of the plane. There is hand-to-hand combat near an open bay door, and the roaring winds amidst the high altitude adds a touch of tension. When the hostage is nearly about to fall out, Luke catches him with one hand while shooting with the other! The scene is full of old-school stunts and it still feels modern in FUBAR. Arnold Schwarzenegger proves his mettle.

6. Grenade scene

Another scene that blends the characteristic action and humor in FUBAR is this scene from the 2nd season’s 5th episode. The scene fuses the humor of FUBAR with the classic intimidation and bravado of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Luke Brunner is caught amidst a gang of heavily armed captors and turns the tables on them using nothing but a bluff and a live grenade. The scene takes place in a Soviet-era bunker where Luke and the CIA allies are ambushed and outgunned. Cornered and out of options, Luke stealthily pockets a loose grenade from a fallen enemy. As the enemies close in, Luke steps into the room with arms raised and pulls the pin. Viewers get to see the classic Arnold as he does not blink and has tense muscles. With a plan in mind, he threatens to drop the grenade unless they surrender, bluffing the enemies into disarming. Then, at the last second, he catches the grenade before it hits the floor and throws it towards the bunker wall, creating a fiery escape route. The scene is bold and thrilling, and is one of the best FUBAR scenes featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

7. The final showdown

The final fight happens in the second season’s Eepisode 8, between Luke and Boro, who is Luke’s nemesis. It is the climactic showdown. The face-off between the two is gritty, personal, and intense and happens in a crumbling warehouse rigged with explosives. While Boro is the unhinged arms dealer who taunts Luke about his age and morality, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Luke showcases his emotional weight and his moral duty of stopping the cycle of betrayal and damage. The fight begins with brute punches, metal pipes, and shattered glass, and both men showcase their gritty and raw side as they bleed. Finally, both of them crash through a scaffolding as the warehouse catches fire. Despite being older, Luke uses technique and will power to gain the upper hand, eventually overpowering Boro in a brutal exchange. As the fire spreads, Luke saves Boror and hands him over to authorities. The restraint, the physical toll, and the fiery chaos of the scene cements Arnold Schwarzenegger’s greatness as an action hero in FUBAR, unstoppable even at his age.
