This episode comes from the 2nd season’s 8th episode and is memorable because viewers get to see the character of Saul for the first time in Breaking Bad. When the DEA catches Jesse’s pal and fellow dealer Badger, Walter and Jesse are forced to hire the street-smart yet shady lawyer Saul to get him released. However, when Jesse discovers that Saul is going to make Badger confess and reveal the identity of Heisenberg, the duo kidnap and threaten to kill him. The whole episode is brilliant as the addition of a comedic relief yet important character like Saul, adds layers to the show. As Saul agrees to represent them and keep their business confidential, more people add on to Walter’s plan. One of the earlier episodes in Breaking Bad, this episode comes from the show’s 1st season and its 6th episode. It is an iconic episode as Walter White showcases his violent streak for the first time. The episode marks a turning point as Walter begins chemotherapy and has to shave his head. The medical costs also start rising. It is one of the first few moments where Walter gives a glimpse of becoming the dreaded Heisenberg. As Walter is on the lookout to sell his drugs fast and earn money, Jesse begins to look for a wholesaler and finds Tuco Salamanca, who is crazy. He beats up Jesse in their first meeting and Walter has to intervene and introduce himself to Tuco as Heisenberg. When Tuco does not meet their demands, Walter uses fulminated mercury to cause an explosion in Tuco’s office and everyone gets knocked down to the ground. One of the most pulse-pounding episodes in Breaking Bad, this episode is from the show’s 5th season and is its 5th episode. The episode showcases the genius heist that Walter and Jesse are able to successfully pull off under precarious conditions. As the DEA is closing in on them, Walter, Jesse, and Mike, come up with a plan to steal a train car full of methylamine and also bring Todd to assist. The plan is full of risks and is high-stakes. However, that is what makes the episode so memorable. It keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats. As the train is moving, the crew has to stall it so that the methylamine is swapped with an equal amount of water. Walter is kidnapped by Gus and taken to the desert, where Gus shows the viewers how cold and ruthless he is by firing Walter and threatening him about killing his family, including his infant daughter. Walter decides to take heed of Saul’s offer and agrees to get disappeared, but it will take half a million dollars. The episode is chaotic as Walter rushes into his home and crawls into a space to get the money, but it isn’t enough. The biggest twist comes when Skyler reveals to Walter that she gave the rest of the money to Ted Beneke to pay off the IRS and Walter has no option but to break down into a frenzied laugh. Walter White faces a lot of enemies on his road to become a drug kingpin, but while most of them are not worth their weight, it is only Gus Fring, who ends up being one of the most cold and calculated villains that Walter comes across. This episode from Breaking Bad, is from the show’s 4th season and is the 10th episode. The owner of Los Pollos Hermanos, Fring is always one step ahead and his steely gaze and calm demeanor is actually full of menace. He executes a deadly plan during a cartel visit in Mexico and brings Jesse along so that he can cook blue meth for their hosts. While Gus makes a deal with Don Eladio and makes peace and raises a toast, he quickly slips away and induces himself to vomit as he has poisoned the bottle of tequila. While Don Eladio and his men start dropping like flies, Gus finally gets his revenge as Eladio had killed his business partner Max. The episode proves Gus’s ruthless approach and showcases the dark brilliance of Breaking Bad.

This episode of Breaking Bad, comes from the show’s 5th season and is the 1st episode. However, the show is so iconic that even the first episode of the season is memorable. The episode is noted for being character-driven, which highlights the emotional depth of a show like Breaking Bad. The episode is important as Jesse showcases his brilliance as a character and thinks one step ahead of everyone in the episode. The episode is from the show’s 2nd season and is its 12th episode. In the episode, Jesse and his girlfriend Jane, are hooked on heroin and Walter holds out Jesse’s share of their earnings. This leads to Jane blackmailing Walter and threatening to reveal all his secrets to the public if he didn’t give back Jesse’s money. The episode is full of twists and turns as Walter goes to see Jesse and help him out and it seems like there is some humanity in Walter, still. However, he crosses the line from being the anti-hero to the full-fledged villain, when Jane has passed out and is choking on her own vomit. Walter initially helps but then hesitates and something shifts inside him as he watches her die, instead. The moment is something that Walter can never come back from and while his blackmail situation is solved, he has entered a territory that he can never come back from in Breaking Bad.

One of the most iconic TV show episodes and the only one that has the perfect score on IMDb, this memorable episode of Breaking Bad, proves that the show had surpassed its own greatness. The show’s 14th episode from the 5th season, is something that fans of the show know by name. The episode is regularly considered as one of the greatest episodes in TV show history and is an emotional rollercoaster. It does not hold back and delivers a masterclass in storytelling. After a shootout kills Gomez, Walter offers his entire fortune to Jack to spare Hank. However, Hank is shot in front of him. The moment is shocking as the death of Hank, brings an iconic character to end. While Walter’s money is taken and Jesse is taken as a prisoner to cook meth, Walter tries to flee with his baby daughter, which results in an emotional yet dramatic showdown with his family. The episode comes from the show’s 4th season and is its 13th episode, which is also the last episode. Therefore, the season ends on a banging note. Walter White is in despair as Gus Fring is still alive and after him. As Walter tries to take down Gus, he decides to team up with an old enemy who also dislikes Gus Fring. This person is Hector Salamanca and even he wants to kill Gus. However, Gus also wants to kill Hector and he goes to Hector’s retirement home. But before Gus can execute his plan, Hector frantically rings the bell on his wheelchair, which activates a bomb under his chair. The next shot is iconic as Gus walks out of the room and straightens his tie, making viewers believe as if he is still alive. However, the camera pans to the other side of his face, which has blown off and he then drops dead. Gus Fring’s iconic yet shocking death is what makes this episode one of the best chapters in Breaking Bad.


10. Felina

All the ruckus and chaos that defined Breaking Bad, comes to an end in the show’s final episode, which is the 5th season’s 16th episode. The episode is once again character-driven and emotional and reveals Walter’s inner frame of mind. While other shows can often end up with a lackluster finale, Breaking Bad ends on a memorable note. The episode stays suspenseful and thrilling till the last moment and it is emotionally satisfying for the viewers. Walter returns to Albuquerque one last time to secure his family’s financial future and settle his affairs. He also wants to exact revenge and in one of the important moments of the show, he kills Jack and his gang with an automated machine gun. However, Walter is also shot and ultimately dies. Jesse escapes from captivity and is finally free. The episode ends on a somber note and viewers can recall Walter’s haunting words, where he earlier confessed that everything he did in the show, was for himself and not for his family. Breaking Bad, truly ends on a haunting note.
