Alien: Earth season 1 has finally come to an end. The season finale leaves Boy Cavalier on a note that may seem out of character to some viewers, while others may find it justified. There's a reason why this 20-something trillionaire has been such a strong presence in the show's narrative, and the season's final episode emphasizes the complexities even further.
Boy was a ruthless, power-hungry CEO, but he was also someone who suffered abuse at the hands of his father. At a young age, he killed his own father. It led him on a life where he was raised by a synthetic he created. Since it was his own creation, it was tailored to his needs. This means he continued getting what he wanted and rarely had to hear a No.
It must have informed Boy's worldview in some shape or form. So, in a recent interview with Variety, Samuel Blenkin (who played Boy Cavlier) revealed how Boy's childhood may have impacted his perspective. The actor said,
"This character has two separate lives, one is the life that he had before the event of when he killed his father, and the hero version of himself that he invented at some point down the road. He’s got this little part of himself where his father was abusive and horrible to him that’s locked up deep inside."
The father's abuse stemmed from his jealousy over the son's intelligence and his feeling inferior to the son. So, even after his death, he remains in his son's traumatizing memories.
Samuel Blenkin reflects on Boy Kavalier's shocking revelation in the Alien: Earth Season 1 finale

The finale of Alien: Earth season 1 shows Boy Cavalier locked by those he created, thus realizing the evil they are capable of. Instead of being terrified, he manically laughs, and this might be because he sees them as someone (that he created) who can outsmart him. That's something he had been looking for for a long time.
Much of Alien: Earth season 1 reveals Boy's egotism, leading to tragedies. It might be rooted in his childhood and how he was raised since he was fairly young. Samuel Blenkin addressed this topic in the Variety interview, saying,
"So much of how that experience formed him is present throughout the whole series, especially in the sense of someone who doesn’t have any examples in his life of when he has failed, in order for him to be humbled slightly. He’s never been humbled before."
He also added,
"When you’re completely surrounded by people who consistently say yes to you, it turns you into a Boy Kavalier type of person. I imagine it being a very strange upbringing, and one that was very fast in coming into power. He ultimately had success at his fingertips from a very young age, and that really does something to somebody."
Samuel Blenkin was one of the highlights of Alien: Earth season 1, but he was joined by a talented cast of Sydney Chandler (Wendy), Alex Lawther (Hermit), Essie Davis (Dame), and Timothy Olyphant (Kirsh), among others.
