"This season is unhinged": Euphoria Season 3 teased by Sydney Sweeney; star describes her character Cassie as "flawed on so many levels"

Sam Levinson is the creator of the American television series Euphoria. Rue Bennett, a high school student battling heroin addiction, is the subject of the narrative and her friends' struggles with love, identity, mental health, and familial concerns are also chronicled on the show.

In addition to narrating the series, Zendaya plays Rue on the show. The program is renowned for its powerful acting, poignant narratives, and distinctive visual aesthetic. It has received multiple honors, including an Emmy.

Euphoria, has released two seasons till now and it debuted on HBO in 2019. With the third season under development, the show has been able to gain a global following.

Recently in an interview with Empire, Sydney Sweeney shared her thoughts on Sam and the third season of Euphoria:

“Sam is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with. I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m all in.’ And this season is unhinged.”

She characterizes her character Cassie as sensitive and said:

"She’s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well. "

One of the most complicated and emotional characters in HBO's popular series Euphoria is Cassie Howard. Sydney Sweeney plays Cassie, a high school girl who battles emotional stability, love, and self-worth. Cassie, who is well-known for her need for attention and her dread of loneliness, frequently takes decisions that result in drama and heartache.

She covertly romances her best friend's ex, Nate Jacobs, in Season 2, which causes friction among her close pals. Fans have mixed feelings about Cassie's character, which makes her one of the most talked-about characters on the show.

As Season 3 began filming, Sydney Sweeney discussed returning to the role after nearly three years. She described the new season as more "unhinged" than the previous one.

Sweeney said Cassie is “flawed on so many levels” but explained that all of her actions come from a place of deep emotional need.

“She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes...She is hated and she’s loved, but she’s definitely a complicated character,” Sweeney explained.

She added that fan reactions—both positive and negative—show she is portraying the role well.

“If they’re hating me for decisions that my character is making, then I’m playing the character correctly.”

When Sydney Sweeney began working on Euphoria, she was only 20 years old. She has had rapid career growth since then. She originally became well-known thanks to Everything Sucks!, Sharp Objects, and The Handmaid's Tale.

She subsequently made an appearance in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, directed by Quentin Tarantino. She was nominated for an Emmy for her role in The White Lotus.

She most recently produced and appeared in Immaculate, and also starrred in Madame Web, and Reality. She will next be seen in 2025 in The Housemaid and Echo Valley.
