Fans of Peaky Blinders might have been excited that their favorite show is finally getting a movie, unfortunately however, Sam Claflin has confirmed that he won’t be present in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, The Immortal Man.
Directed by Tom Harper, The Immortal Man, is an upcoming epic crime drama movie written by Steven Knight and is based on the popular show. While Cillian Murphy is present as the famous Thomas Shelby along with other actors like Sophie Rundle, Stephen Graham, and more, an important actor and character has bid adieu.
Sam Claflin is known for his roles in the Pirates of the Caribbean and joined Peaky Blinders in its fifth season. He played the role of Oswald Mosley, who is based on the real-life politician who tried to lead a rise in fascism before the Second World War. In the show, he became an enemy of Thomas Shelby and therefore had an important role.
However, fans have been left heart-broken as Sam Claflinwill not be reprising his role as Oswald Mosley. In an interview to the Metro, the actor stated that,
“sadly, I’ll share – I’m not in the film, though, I’m so excited as a fan of the series.”
After all the viral speculation over his involvement in the movie, the actor has finally laid all rumors to rest. However, fans of Peaky Blinders have given expression to their anguish on Reddit.
Peaky Blinders fans are totally disappointed about Sam Claflin not returning in The Immortal Man
The online platform of Reddit has gone into a frenzy as fans of Peaky Blinders express their disappointment over Sam Claflin and his character, Oswald Mosley, not being in The Immortal Man.
“Too bad. I wanted to see how it would all end since he was the first person who frustrated Tommy to the point of him thinking for the first time that He was finally defeated by someone.” black_hustler3 commented.
“Disappointing! He literally was one of my favourite antagonists” CelestiaIntrovert commented.
Most fans mentioned that Claflin’s character of Mosley was one of the few antagonists in Peaky Blinders, who gave Shelby a hard time. Others also mourned the fact that the movie had already ruined its chances of becoming great.
“Just like every great anticipated series they are going to ruin the ending. Should’ve ended at the last season. If Oswald Mosley doesn’t return then what’s the point in a movie? Greed and money perhaps?” BouchWick stated.
Other fans also stated that The Immortal Man will feel useless as fans had always wanted the Mosley storyline to finish.
