Colter goes back to Echo Ridge for a missing person’s case in Tracker Season 2 Episode 20

In Tracker Season 2 finale, Colter has to come to Echo Ridge as his mother needed some help with the disappearance of Bill, a local guy who had come back to help his sister with the diner she owned. While Bill had a history of drug abuse and most people thought that his disappearance was related to him relapsing, Bill’s sister was certain that something more sinister had happened with her brother.

Her suspicion was not baseless, as she told Colter that previously, Bill had noticed a man come to the diner with a child, and from the way the kid behaved, it looked like their relationship was not a healthy one. While the child did not try to escape, he also was not comfortable with the man who brought him. Moreover, the man also prohibited the kid from eating anything at the diner and asked him not to speak to anyone in his absence as well.

As the man went to the restroom, Bill decided to talk to the kid to know what was happening. However, he could not get any information from him, and as the man came back, he got mad at Bill for trying to talk to the child. However, they left soon as Bill was distracted with something else happening at the diner.

While they left, Bill kept feeling uneasy and after some digging, he came to know that the kid’s name was Chris McCain and he was kidnapped from San Francisco. This made him feel even worse, and he set out to find the kid. However, he did not come back, and that is what got his sister concerned, and as a result, Colter came onto the scene.

After starting his investigation, Colter comes to know that he will have to talk to Ronnie Yates, a meth dealer, as Charles was seen with him. Despite warnings from his friend, Colter goes to meet Yates and asks him about the kid and Bill at gunpoint. Yates says that he did not know about that and he did not deal with little children, as that was a professional boundary he maintained. He gives him the name of Carl Murphy, who was not a part of Yates’ regular crew but worked as a freelancer with him.

It is also revealed that Yates had accidentally told Carl details about Bill, and that led to Bill being murdered. Colter found Bill’s body at Carl’s property. It eventually comes to light that Carl is associated with child trafficking and after getting the law enforcement involved with this, Colter successfully saves the day as all the kidnapped children are rescued and Carl is also caught.

Colter learns the truth about his father’s death in Tracker Season 2 Episode 20

While Colter was at Carl’s truck, he had found a carving similar to what his father used to make. As he asked Carl about it, he told him that he had gotten it from his uncle, which led Colter to Carl’s uncle, Otto Waldron. Initially the man was cold to him, but when he came to know Colter’s father’s name, he asked Colter to ask him whatever he wanted.

Otto also told Colter that he has helped Colter’s father to settle down in this wilderness. When Colter asked him if he was there the night his father died, Otto said yes and also mentioned that it was he who had pushed Colter’s father down, as his mother had asked him for help.

This revelation is utterly surprising, as this means Colter’s mother always knew this truth about his father’s death and yet maintained that Colter’s brother had pushed his father down. The episode ends here, and fans will have to wait for the next season for answers.
