Colter discovers new things about his father in Tracker Season 2 Episode 19
Among the two siblings that Colter has, he thought that his elder brother was the reason behind his father’s death. His mother also supported this version of his father’s death. However, his sister Dory always felt that this was not true, as she believed that both of their parents were messed up.
The Shaw parents were indeed scientists, and at one point in their childhood, their parents took them off the grid as their father said that he was doing some groundbreaking research, which needed seclusion.
This was naturally difficult for the children, and Dory hated this life with all her might. She wanted to live like a normal young person and hang out with her friends, something that their father did not approve of. Despite asking for so much from the children, his father shouted at them constantly and bullied them as well.
Then, on one stormy night, as Dory and their father had a huge argument, which felt like it would end up in Dory getting beaten by him, the Shaw brothers stood up to their bully father to save Dory. This angered their father, and he left home, not caring about the disaster that was going on outside.
His body was then discovered, and it was thought that Colter’s brother had pushed him, which made him fall. However, Colter’s brother denied doing any such thing. Now, after all these years, Colter learns that Dory now has a file, which contains their father’s groundbreaking work.
When he asks her about the same, she tells him that the work is not groundbreaking in today’s standards. However, Colter does not believe it because his older brother had told him that their father was working with the government, and given the nature of the work, his file had to be redacted.
Colter knew that if it was not of high importance, then the file would not have been redacted. However, before he could ask Dory for more information and the truth, he got a call from Reenie regarding a new case.
Colter tries to find Francie in Tracker Season 2 Episode 19
Reenie informs Colter that the case she had called him about is Leo Sharf’s assistant, Francie Butler. Sharf was a client of Reenie and a billionaire, and by the looks of it, he seemed to be extremely concerned about Francie, as she was clearly more than just an assistant and took care of Sharf in every possible way.
Colter also comes to know that the kidnapping happened right before Sharf was going to launch his company, and that prevented him from going to the police about the case because that might mean negative publicity for his product. This is why he had asked Reenie’s help, who, in turn, called in Colter.
As Colter starts investigating, he gets a video showing Francie tied up somewhere, and then a ransom of five million dollars is demanded from Sharf to ensure that she returns alive and well. However, when Colter tracks down the location and reaches there, Francie is already gone.
Moreover, the scene of abduction seems to have been staged and does not look real. This made Colter think that someone was doing this to Sharf out of personal grudges.
From the long list of enemies that Sharf had, Grimes’ name stood out as the new company that Sharf was going to launch had been created together by them, but now Grimes was out of the scene.
As Colter starts looking deeply into Grimes, it comes to light that he has a history of violence against women as well. As it becomes clear that Grimes had all the motive to do this to Sharf, Colter reaches his place only to find that he had been kidnapped as well.
However, his computer showed that he was looking into details about Reenie. This gets Colter worried, and as he calls Reenie to warn her, she gets kidnapped in the middle of the call.
Eventually, the FBI got involved in this as it was a kidnapping case, and also, Reenie’s boyfriend Elliot was shot. Colter keeps looking for Francie as Sharf asks him, and eventually finds her near a dumpster as she tells Colter that the kidnappers had put her there and left.
Reenie, on the other hand, gets locked in a room right by Grimes, who thinks that it is Sharf behind all of this. However, it ultimately comes to light that Francie was the one who orchestrated the whole thing. Her real name was Francesca Barzotti, and she wanted to take revenge on Sharf for stealing her brother Cyrus’ work, which made Cyrus kill himself.
However, with a few timely calls, Colter saves both Reenie and Sharf, and when he returns, he finds that Dory had left a box containing their father’s things.
