Things get scarier as the building loses its power, paving the way for a tragedy. This forces the staff to check all the inmates' doors and they discover that Heston Koontz has escaped. Heston was a dangerous and deranged patient at the facility. In Colter's first meeting with the Koontzs, they tell him that Heston was diagnosed with parasomnia and suffered from regular waking nightmares and night terrors. While he was normal till high school, he started showing signs of extreme aggression and violence afterwards, even killing their family dog. Things got serious when he became obsessed with a girl named Emily and set fire to her house, killing her whole family. Emily managed to escape.Heston's parents believe that their son is a huge threat and the nurse's murder proves this. Colter meets the Detective (Dundee) assigned to Heston's case and they begin his search. Dundee sends security to Emily's house and Colter checks Heston's journals and personal belongings. He sees a Bible from the Sacred Fire Church and a key card, indicating that somebody helped Heston in his escape. They trace the key card to a man named Bill (from the Sacred Fire Church's sect). They find an officer dead and no signs of Emily, indicating that Heston had already abducted her.Elsewhere in Tracker Season 3 Episode 3, Reenie finds out that Heston had regular visits from Sister Carlotta from the Sacred Fire Church. She asks around in the church and learns that she believed that Heston was innocent and genuinely wanted to help him. Upon searching her belongings, Colter finds Sister Carlotta's journal and a map of Heston's detention center. Her last journal entry mentions a 'First Fire' and asks God's forgiveness for what she is about to do.Colter and Dundee also learn about Jared, another member of the sect who worked with nun Carlotta. They were part of a secret altar that was hell-bent on hunting down the 'dark things' inside a human. Nun Carlotta believes that Heston was possessed by a demon. Thanks to Carlotta's hint of 'First Fire', Colter deduces that Carlotta has taken them hostage at Emily's old house, the place burned down by Heston in the first fire.While Colter and Dundee head out for the place, Carlotta had started her demonic ritual on Heston and Emily. With the help of other sect members, she is trying to save Heston's soul from the demon by burning him alive with his temptation, ie, Emily. As the sect members pour gasoline over Heston and Emily, the former frees himself but is shot at by one of the cult members. Colter arrives in time and shoots the sect member.Heston uses this opportunity to attack nun Carlotta and free Emily from her restraints in Tracker Season 3 Episode 3. As Colter takes Emily outside to safety, the house goes up in flames, taking Heston and Carlotta with it.
