True Haunting is an upcoming horror docuseries set to be released on Netflix on October 7, 2025. The show will present horror stories based on real-life events experienced by people. The show is produced by James Wan and his production company, Atomic Monster, which also produced Paranormal Witness.

Everything we know about True Haunting

If you liked Paranormal Witness, you will enjoy True Haunting as well, since both shows follow the same format. Like Paranormal Witness, True Haunting will recreate real horror experiences based on the testimonials of people who have gone through them. However, a show like this isn't for everyone because it doesn't claim that the horrors are purely fictional or a result of psychological issues. It shows real reactions to horror.

You will also get to witness real interviews with people who have gone through such traumatic events, alongside recreations by actors. The show will present two eerie incidents titled This House Murdered Me and Eerie Hall. True Haunting does not aim to provide logical reasoning behind the creepy stories but shows what real, crippling fear is and the effect it has on people. The show's official trailer begins with:

"The existence of spirits is not so much a question of belief. It's a matter of evidence."

That sets the tone for the rest of the trailer and the show. One person, a victim of the horrors depicted in This House Murdered Me, talks about her dream of moving into a new house and neighborhood. Her dreams were shattered by what she experienced in the house. Another person who had also experienced something horrific said the incident made him question his own sanity.

For many, the horror wasn't limited to a single event. It was a series of experiences that turned their lives into a living hell, with no explanation in sight. One person in the trailer says that these experiences convinced him that there is some sort of life after death. We can't say for sure if that's true, since the topic is highly subjective, but you can decide for yourself once the show comes out.

The show's logline, according to Netflix, is,

Through immersive reenactments and present-day interviews, this chilling series details paranormal encounters from the viewpoint of those who llived them.

True Haunting is executive produced by James Wan, Simon Allen, Mark Lewis, Scott Stewart, Michael Clear, Rob Hackett, and Lindsay Shapero. This House Murdered Me is directed by Luke Watson, and Eerie Hall is directed by Neil Rawles. The production companies behind the show are Raw TV and Atomic Monster.

The show will be released early in October, but if you don't mind waiting, it can be the perfect series to binge during Halloween with your friends. It doesn't try to tone down the fear factor, and if you love real horror, it can be the perfect addition to your Halloween binge list. True Haunting will be released on Netflix on October 7, 2025. Paranormal Witness is streaming on Peacock.
