Martin Starr's Bodhi is one of the most zen characters in Tulsa King, the hit crime drama full of action and violence. The third season's premiere and the two episodes that have been released so far have completely flipped the script on Starr's character, Bodhi.

In a recent conversation with Collider, ahead of the third season's premiere, Starr revealed that his character might have a darker future waiting for him as the crime boss Dwight Manfredi's empire (played by Sylvester Stallone) grows larger and so much more risky for everyone involved.

Martin Starr's Bodhi has a dark future ahead of him in Tulsa King Season 3

The Tulsa King Season 2 ending was one of the biggest cliffhangers for Stallone's Dwight. However, it was also pretty traumatic for Starr's Bodhi, who survived a drive-by shootout but ended up losing one of his own to it. Jimmy "The Creek," as played by Glen Gould, was shot in the abdomen, and everyone, especially Bodhi, struggles with Jimmy's death.

Jimmy's death reverberates in Tulsa King's third season through its effect on the other characters. Bodhi feels a lot of guilt after surviving the shootout where Jimmy died. He even feels somewhat betrayed when Dwight partners with Bill Bevilaqua, who orchestrated the shootout.

The most zen and laid-back character takes a complete U-turn this season as he is torn about making sure that Jimmy's death is avenged. Bodhi even tries to orchestrate an attack on Bill during a money transfer, but is unable to shoot when the moment arrives. Instead, Bodhi ends up pistol-whipping Bill. Dwight, when informed of this altercation, supports Bodhi and even promises that his revenge will be complete.

Martin Starr reveals his character's fate in the upcoming episodes of Tulsa King Season 3, saying that he would end up getting pulled deeper into this darkness. He adds that his character will go through a lot of twists and turns this season. Additionally, the addition of Annabelle Sciorra's Joanne in the mix, who is related to Dwight by blood, might even lead to a demotion for him.

"I think we all get pulled in deeper as the empire grows. I take twists and turns because at some point it feels like I'm maybe taking a leadership role. And what kind of becomes of our relationship is Annabella, Joanne in the show, kind of takes seniority over me by blood relation and has the natural bravado for that role anyway. So I get to do some fun stuff this season, but it's less in the leadership role. I'm kind of being demoted mildly."

It will be interesting to see how Martin Starr's Bodhi deals with the fact that Dwight's empire is growing at an exponential speed, and he might end up getting pulled in deeper than he realizes. If he does end up taking a step back in, it might be time for his character to deal with Jimmy's death and the survivor's guilt that's haunting him.
