Paramount+'s Tulsa King Season 3 wrapped up with its finale episode on November 23, 2025. The finale episode thrust Sylvester Stallone's Dwight Manfredi into a showdown with his most dangerous rival yet, Robert Patrick's Jeremiah Dunmire.

It begins with Dunmire kidnapping Manfredi's sister, Joanne. As he forces her to sign the distillery papers, Manfredi threatens to end Dunmire. (And well, he does it too) In a turn of events, Cole switches sides and informs them about Joanne's location. Soon, Dwight, with his crew, infiltrates Dunmire's compound. Amid the chaos, Dwight finds Joanne and rescues her. In the end, Dwight walks up to a tied-up Jeremiah and sets him ablaze (just like he burned his friend Theo Montague earlier).

In a candid chat with TVInsider, Patrick opens up about the brutal finale episode and a surprising connection to a legendary crime thriller show that some might have missed. In an episode, Dunmire nonchalantly asks, "How's your balls, Manfredi?" For many Soprano fans, this might bring back a wave of memories (or not, since it's a tidbit from the sets). For Robert Patrick, this was a deliberate move to pay tribute to his Sopranos co-star Jimmy Gandolfini. He said,

"And the crossover from Sopranos to Tulsa King, the fans are there. That’s a throughline there for sure. Yeah, that’s why I threw out that line, “How’s your balls, Manfredi?” That came from Jimmy Gandolfini. That’s what Jimmy came in and said to me right before we shot that scene where he beats me up in my office to collect."

Robert Patrick brings a Sopranos moment in Tulsa King Season 3

Robert Patrick not only delivers one of the season's most gripping antagonists, but the actor also manages to slip a dash of television's most iconic crime dramas, The Sopranos. As Patrick confirmed, that connection wasn't accidental. It was personal, deliberate and rooted in a moment he shared with James Gandolfini more than two decades ago. Here's what he noted while speaking to ScreenRant.

Patrick further emphasizes that Dunmire's catchy line, "How's your balls, Manfredi?" comes from the sets of The Sopranos. During Season 2 of the HBO classic, Patrick played Davey Scatino, the desperate gambler who crossed Tony Soprano. Before a scene in which Gandolfini had to physically intimidate him, Patrick joked backstaged, telling Gandolfini to bring his A-game for the beating. The next day, Gandolfini confidently walked onto the set, tossed a cig, and greeted him with, "How's your balls?" It stuck with Patrick forever. He told,

"I was thinking about it, having The Sopranos experience, how to tie that in. I really wanted to do that, and I wanted to do it for The Sopranos fans, because I imagine there's a lot of Sopranos fans that are watching Tulsa King and enjoying it. I know Sly thought it was funny. He actually said, "Well, we have to give him a writing credit.""

Thus, decades later, while filming Tulsa King Season 3 opposite Sylvester Stallone, Patrick reached for that memory. As he stepped out of the car in the episode where Dunmire storms the distillery launch, he improvised the now-famous line. When Stallone asked where the line came from, Patrick explained it was Gandolfini. Stallone loved it so much that he joked that Gandolfini deserves a writing credit.

What makes the moment resonate is how seamless it feels. Tulsa King does not copy The Sopranos; instead, it subtly honors it. The easter eggs acknowledge the shared DNA between the crime dramas, the codes, the rivalries, and the violent loyalties.
