Taylor Sheridan bringing back legacy actors who've previously worked on his shows is not a surprise, considering the Tulsa King creator is known for choosing actors he's worked with in one show for roles in others. The Yellowstone creator has several massive hits with Paramount+, and in those shows, there are more than 20 actors who have appeared in more than one role (Sheridan himself included).

Such is the case for Barry Corbin, another legacy Taylor Sheridan actor, who has appeared in both Yellowstone and Tulsa King. The actor first appeared on Yellowstone Season 4 as Riss, a ranch hand at the Four Sixes, and then went on to play Mitch Keller's only living relative, Babe, on Tulsa King Season 1.

Keep reading to find out more about Corbin's return after almost three years.

Tulsa King Season 3 marks the return of Barry Corbin as Babe

Since Barry Corbin's appearance on Yellowstone and then Tulsa King Season 1, he has not made an appearance in any other Taylor Sheridan universe. This might just have to do with the actor's busy schedule, as he appeared in a Martin Scorsese project titled Killers of the Flower Moon and has a short film that he's working on.

However, his absence might also have to do with his role in the show. Corbin plays Mitch Keller's only living relative, Babe. In the first season, Mitch had an individual storyline that required him to ask his uncle for advice about life at times. We first meet Babe at Bred2Buck. However, in the second season, Mitch had a considerably smaller role, so it made perfect sense that a character whose only connection to the plot is Mitch did not make an appearance.

It has been three years since Babe's Season 1 appearance in the show, and the third season finally breaks this streak and marks the legacy actor's return to the Taylor Sheridan universe.

Babe is seen for the first time in three years when Mitch decides to take Cleo Montague to his house for protection. Mitch and Cleo were formerly lovers, but they broke up. However, the third season is witnessing some sparks between the two, so maybe they will find their way back to each other once again.

Mitch takes Cleo to stay at his house because of Robert Patrick's Jeremiah Bunmire's threats to target Dwight, his crew, and everybody they care about. Jeremiah Bunmire is a powerful, ruthless man with deep pockets, the scariest antagonist on Tulsa King yet. Considering Bunmire has already unsuccessfully tried to kill Mitch before, his decision to take precautions and ensure Cleo's safety does not come in a vacuum.

The threat of Jeremiah Bunmire also hangs over Babe's safety, so hopefully, Mitch's badass, wise uncle will make it out of Tulsa King Season 3 safe as ever. We'll have to wait until the next episodes of this season to find out how Jeremiah Bunmire's threats play out for Dwight, his crew, and their loved ones.
