Robert Patrick's Jeremiah Dunmire has made an impression on the viewers through his appearances in the first two episodes of Tulsa King Season 3. The central antagonist fans and viewers worried about the fates of all the central characters of the third season of the Taylor Sheridan crime drama. The second episode that was released on Sunday featured a much hyped moment.
The said moment occurs in the concluding moments of Tulsa King Season 3, Episode 2, The Fifty, Dwight and Jeremiah Dunmire have their first conversation. This conversation teases exciting confrontations between Dwight and the Dunmire patriarch in the upcoming episodes of Tulsa King Season 3.
The first two episodes of Tulsa King Season 3 have built up Jeremiah Dunmire as one of Taylor Sheridan's darkest villains:
Unlike the other antagonists of the previous three seasons, Taylor Sheridan surprised fans by having Jeremiah Dunmire make his first shocking move right in the first episode. The Tulsa King Season 3 premiere ends on a shocking note as Jeremiah has Theodore "Theo" Montague murdered. The first episode of the third season built up Robert Patrick's character as Dwight Manfredi's biggest threat yet.
It seems that makers want to hold on to the promise made by the first two episodes for the rest of Tulsa King Season 3. In the second episode, Jeremiah issues threats to Dwight at the latter's bar. But for the first time, it seems that someone has talked back to Jeremiah, as Dwight points out that he is scared of competition for the first time and threatens to destroy everything he has ever built.
Their conversation in the second episode sets up what the major portion of the third season is going to be about: Dwight and Jeremiah Dunmire's game of one-upmanship. This has some wondering if Jeremiah will be a one-and-done villain or a recurring one. The official logline teases a challenging path ahead for Dwight:
“As Dwight’s (Stallone) empire expands, so do his enemies and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.”
Furthermore, the Dunmire family is not the only threat to Dwight and what he has built ever since he set foot in Tulsa.
Dwight has to safeguard himself from the Renzettis as well:
Season 3 features James Russo's Quiet Ray Renzetti of the Renzetti crime family. This family might be another threat that Dwight might not focus on, as he is occupied with thwarting the Dunmires' attacks. The Renzettis take advantage of the situation and send an assassin to kill Dwight, which brings us to Russell Lee Washington, Jr., played by Samuel L. Jackson.
However, Russell turns out to be Dwight's friend in prison and is inspired by him, leading to his own spin-off series, NOLA King. While Russell will appear in an episode of this season, the spin-off series does not have a release date yet. We do have an official logline for NOLA King, which reads:
“NOLA King follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson) who, after befriending Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) during a 10-year stint in federal prison, is sent to Tulsa by New York’s Renzetti crime family to take Dwight out once and for all. Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned 40 years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family, friends, and to take control of the city he left behind. In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York, and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop.”
