The pair is returning for Dig, which is based on Excavation by Kate Myers, and will bring Hugh Laurie along.Television Writer Michael Schur Honored With a Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame - Source: GettyAccording to Deadline, Hugh Laurie will play the character of Neville, who is,a British professor who sincerely loves archaeology and strives to uphold the traditions of this dying profession. He fancies himself an inspiring mentor to everyone who works at the site.Laurie's character will most likely clash with that of the women, who, belonging to a different generation, might have different views and opinions. Regardless, it seems the show will be a fun comedy to watch since it will follow four archaeologists who discover a secret that was buried long ago. This secret, now uncovered, can change history altogether. If that isn't crazy enough, this unrevealing also puts the group in the middle of an international conspiracy they did not wish for. Besides all this, each of the archaeologists has their own personal issues to deal with, thus creating a chaos perfect for a good comedy.Laurie is known for his extensive career in film, like his roles in 101 Dalmatians, Stuart Little, Holmes & Watson, and The Personal History of David Copperfield. He has an even more extensive career in television, having appeared in leading roles in House, The Night Manager, Veep, Chance, All the Light We Cannot See, and will also be seen in The Wanted Man. Most recently, Laurie has reprised his role for The Night Manager Season 2, which will premiere on Prime Video on January 11, 2026.
