Netflix's latest medical K-dram, Resident Playbook, will finally see happy conclusions for the first-year residents of Yulje Hospital in the upcoming finale episodes. The K-drama's final episodes (Episodes 11 and 12) will premiere on May 17 and May 18, 2025, respectively.
However, ahead of the finale, tvN released special posters featuring first-year residents Oh Yi-young (Go Youn-jung), Pyo Nam-kyung (Shin Si A), Eom Jae-il (Kang Yoo-seok) and Kim Sa-bi (Han Ye-ji), accompanied by their fourth-year and chief resident Goo Do-won (Jung Joon-won).
Gone are the underconfident and unprofessional Yulje rookies we saw in the show's premiere, as they have been replaced by confident and future doctors in the making.

Resident Playbook finale posters see Yulje’s newbies come full circle in their careers
Just like the magical duo of Shin Won-ho and Lee Woo-jung gave a heartwarming conclusion to Hospital Playlist's squad, Yulje's newbies will also have their full circle moment.
The spin-off K-drama will air its finale episodes this week and tvN's special posters suggest that the squad is all set to conquer the world.
The medical K-drama fans must vividly remember the first poster, which introduced the world to Yulje's first-year residents, starting out in the fields of obstetrics and gynaecology. Unkempt hair, disheveled clothes and a lot of paperwork, the posters were enough to hint that their first year residency will be nothing short of a testing journey.
Resident Playbook will finally wrap up Yulje's rookie stories with Episodes 11 and 12, and the new posters suggest a happy ending for them. Gone are the dishevelled looks and the general chaos of the first posters and the residents look much more confident and at peace.
Still in their blue scrubs and accompanied by their chief resident, Goo Do-won, the first-year residents look much more content than they did in the premiere.
This subtle change highlights that Yulje's first-year residents will finally find their natural conclusions in the finale, setting happy paths for their medical and personal lives.
The Resident Playbook finale will conclude Yulje's rookie's coming-of-age arc
While the tvN posters for the finale suggest a happy ending for the characters, the K-drama has witnessed their coming-of-age arc throughout the show.
Starting with Oh Yi-young, an indifferent resident with a lot of debt, who eventually let go of her emotional walls and emerged as a caring medical resident. She has learned to genuinely feel for her patients. Her attitude towards her colleagues and professors also drastically changed as the K-drama progressed.
Pyo Nam-kyung, another resident who dreamed of becoming a doctor at Yulje, had her fair share of ups and downs, but her mental resilience proved her worth as a good doctor.
Eom Jae-il, the resident who made the most mistakes and was on the verge of quitting, also had his shining moment. Not only did he let go of his decision to quit medicine, but he also proved his worth by working hard day and night.
Lastly, the nerdy Kim Sa-bi also showed wonderful growth throughout Resident Playbook by empathising with her patients and embracing her future as a doctor.
Catch the last leg of their journey in the Resident Playbook finale on Netflix.
